Please forgive me, I know this subject has been covered many times before, but I'm struggling to find a part number. The number that keeps coming up as a search result is out of date and the eurocarparts website doesn't recognise it.

The part I'm after is the odd 2 part donut style clap that holds the last part of the exhaust pipe tips to the rear silencer box? It looks like 2 clamps side by side, has bolts holding the 2 halves together and a metal ring/flange that sits in the middle.

If anyone knows what I'm talking about please help. I'm currently driving with just one exhaust pipe on the car (with no adverse effects it seems) but I'm desperate to put the other pipe back on (the old clamp rusted away and the exhaust tip fell loose)

Any advice on where I can get a replacement clamp (or a part number) is greatly appreciated.

I think I heard a while ago that Volvo cars also have this same clamp????

Ben.

If you look on the atocarparts site for audi 80 you get the option for exhaust 'o ring' clamps which I think is what you need.

Stupid change of site!

Mind you pretty much any motor factor should be able to sort you out.

If you get no joy with that, Steve (Twos Company) picked up some new clamps for his. They fitted perfectly.

If you drop him a PM he may be able to help.

Hey thanks for the help guys. I went to Eurocarparts in Cambridge and the guy was very helpful. He didn't have much joy sourcing the part on his computer, but luckily I'd taken the rusted old crush ring with me to show him. He went to the stock room and found the right size clamp to fit. A bit of a fiddle, but my car now has 2 nicely polished TTE tips.

For future reference... the part is a 40mm exhaust clamp and the eurocarparts part number is: 712745101 and costs £2.90 inc VAT.

Just edited your first post to give searchers an indication of a new number.

Thanks for adding the info.

Struggling with this one. Clamps are readily available from Eurocaroparts but its the inner gasket that I can't track down.

- MrT say that the TTE kit is no longer on their system since a recent 'upgrade'. Neither clamps nor gaskets are available now.
- RemusUK won't confirm that they can supply this individually for the TTE twin without first having a dialogue with Austria!  s:? :? s:?
- The Volvo alternative posted on our forum a few years ago is a non-format part number according to my local Volvo dealership. Their search based on description has come up with clamp only from a 1995 Volvo 850 non-turbo! (part nos 6842851/2 for the clamp halves). They say that their exhausts are now of a revised design and have a collar on the pipework that negates the gasket.

B0ll0x. Anyone had recent success with these or other alternatives?

Thanks Bryan.

I didn't rate the site much either. 4 failed searches by part number and ended up with 12 brackets in the basket   s:? :? s:?

Just managed to get on the site and it seems you have to put in 1992 volvo 740 to get part number up,also these may be an alternative.

I found a TTE gasket today so I was able to a compare to the Volvo ones and I found that although they are the same design the TTE ones are approx 2-3mm smaller in diameter, the Volvo gasket is 68mm in diameter and so we need to find a gasket that is 65 or 66mm in diameter to get the best fit.I will work on finding a solution and check back.

Great sleuthing Bry. Hope you nail it. The Volvo gasket fits with a great deal of swearing but we commented at the time that a smaller gasket would've been a better punt.

I've just acquired a TTE twin exhaust, while the bracket on one pipe was newish one of the nuts had been threaded  s:( :( s:(  on the other side the bolts were totally rusted and close to shot. The clamps themselves were in fine fettle. So I popped up to my local KwikFit and they gave me two new clamps and bolts for £2.  s:) :) s:)
As for the ring gaskets, one is fine the other is a little corroded around the outside edge but still seems to seal ok around the box and pipe. I hoping a bit of a clean up with a wire brush will service?
Otherwise I might just pop back to KwikFit  s:) :) s:)

Well I tried this Audi 80 etc gasket today and I have to say even though it is thinner it is a very snug fit so I think we have a winner.  s:D :D s:D
