engine undertray removal

Postby js1mr2 » Sun Oct 21, 2012 8:14 pm

Unfortunately on my way home yesterday I went through a flood which caused the engine undertray (not the nappy) to come off in one place and hang down so low it scrapes on the ground. Basically a hole in the plastic which a bolt goes through to attach it to the underside of the car tore. While I have tried to zip tie one side of it up I can't reach the driver's side which is scraping. Is it safe to remove the whole plastic engine undertray for a few weeks to repair it considering I spend quite a lot of time driving on muddy country roads?

No need to put it back if don't want to, many people remove it.

Mine is still on and only comes off for oil changes etc.

The Mrs had an idea the other day to lose the bonnet and turn the frunk into a seat for our pooch!! All that would be needed is a harness and some goggles!!
