I should probably know this / maybe being a bit thick here
How does one go about making a link to a thread on the forum, without using the whole URL and the [url][/url] headers?
Kind of similar question, how do you make the link text different to the full url path text?

Linking pictures is similar.
Replace URL for img. Just make sure the square brackets are either side of img
[img.] [/img.]

But without the dots
