Well fitted mine front and rear, did fronts second but they went on best, only problem was having to undo both bolts on brackets and the bonnet then moving.

On the back how have people oriented the brackets? I have mine with pivot point at the bottom when lid is up, only thing now is the damper plunger only travels a cm or two from lid being fully open to fully closed, doesn't seem quite right.

Any tips on getting these on easily? Seem to be having a problem of the bottom bits not angling high enough whilst the ones on the engine lid side feel awkward. Going to try putting the lid back a bit

edit

Got them on ready for japshow.

On the end lid side of things was it 2 washers then locking washer and nut?

I found fitting the strut on the car joint first made things a lot more simple
the bonnet/lid can then be pushed further back to allow other end on with ease :D

15mm Rob. In line with the ridge in the plastic. I used tin snips and a file which gave a good edge.

I've got my kit and thank you very much. Do the dampers settle down after a while? The dampers are very strong.

They shouldn't, The rears are a bit stronger than needed in case a spoiler is fitted. Is it the back that are too stiff? If you're worried about the flex on the hinge when shutting, I have found that you just need to shut it quickly to get over the sticktion on the end of the stroke.

It is the rear as that's all I fitted right now. I'm not overly concerned, just wondering.

I finally found out where the postman hid my package - sometimes I swear he tippy-taps on the door and runs away quick in case we hear.

Anyway, many thanks Custard for sharing your expertise (again) and I'll probably have a go at fitting these before watching Germany lose

Fitted mine successfully last night. Only problems were of my own making - sheared one of the bolts for the rear lid hinge :( going to try and get the stud out with a stud extractor tonight unless anyone has any other suggestions?

Would you say it is advisable to lift the bonnet/lid by hand until it is fully open? The rear especially seems to lift quite quickly by itself, and I was worried about the stress on the hinges as it hits the top. Also, any hints for getting panel gaps lined up again once installed? Once the hinge mounts are loosened, I'm finding it very tricky to get them exactly back where they were before. Trial and error I guess?

All in all though, very pleased - a well designed and put together kit - cheers Custard :D !

matchin up the panels should be as simple as lining up the marks where the bolts were.
The bolts are sprayed in situ so will leave a blank mark underneath.
just line them up with the screws

A problem here fitting the front kit:
The bolts on the trunk lid aren't going ANYWHERE. They are sprayed with some sort of gray paint and they just won't turn. I'm seemingly disforming the bolt by turning it instead of it coming loose.

The kit itself is perfect: very good packaging, fast shipping and quality stuff ! Great to have worked with you custardavenger !

OK nevermind that, I got it sorted out. A new problem arose:

I managed to get a ball joint broken. "Stupid noob" you must think. Is it possible to send me a new one ? I've never seen them at the hardware store so I doubt I'll find them locally...
