Quote from: "perry190"Been searching for pics of the varis wide body but only pics out there seem to be a choice of two, one of the back and one at an angle.

I have some pics of it at home, I'll try to remember to post them.
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

heres a piccy you posted many moons back on spyderchat

to be honest i think that front bumper would need almost as much work as the veilside to make it to my liking, and a veilside 'style' kit can be bought for a lot less than the varis

those triangular vented sections at each side of the front bumper would need to go for me

thoughts?

I contacted Japanparts about the Abflug Curve wide body kit and koji kindly replied

Dear Perry,
Thank you for your inquiry.
I have inquired curve about MR-S body kit.
But they are not even sure when they will release.
So we could not supply it for you.

so long ways off if it ever goes into production

I've also had a reply from Shorin now:-

Dear Perry

Thank you. It is show Lin Division.

Thank you very much for an inquiry.

Overseas sale plans this December. A sale agreement is as follows.

* I can perform sale from 1SET.

* Because I receive it for about 6 - 8 with 20 feet container, it can discount it in the case of the purchase in a mass.

* A visitor burdens the postage, a fee, entry expense.

* Payment becomes total amount payment in advance bank transfer

If the which it is possible for comes, a meeting wants to make arrangements in when there is the plan that it is come to Japan for if I can do it or Japanese, stay. I wait for communication.

That's all. Thanking you in advance.

good one I think they can sell from 1 sept, you pay the postage and incur any fees.

If you take 8 kits you can get a discount as thats one container load.

I had my kit shipped global priority from the states for around $500 (couldnt wait) so presumably you can do similar.

Good luck,
Philster.

Hi Ian

the body kit is 680,000 yen

but it looks like the lights etc are another matter

tail lights 85,500
rear wing 58,000
Mirrors 33,600
Indicators 5,000
HID kit 150,000 (doesnt clarify if this is only if you want HID tho?)

so all told  1,012,100 if the HIS'd are required  £4559  !!

(inc £675 for HID and £367 for tail lights)

+ taxes/shipping etc

A veilside original is over £3k but still a great deal of money

Its a shame they dont speak/write better english so that the details could be clarified, as, as it is its a lot of dosh!

That's where i got confused. It says complete kit for 680,000. I can't see how they can say it is a full kit if you have to buy other bits seperate when the kit would not be complete without them   s:? :? s:?   Things like the rear wing, side indicators and mirror indicators, i can see as being extra, but you need the front and rear lights. Maybe the 150,000 is for an upgrade to HID lights   s:shock:  s:shock:

Then there's the wheels needed, this is gonna be costly Perry. Keep us posted.

Graham at Japanparts has just ome back to me with a quote for this kit

£5,512 inc shipping to your door, plus import duties and vat this end   s:shock:  s:shock:

you then have the cost of wheels and performance mods to match the looks  (would be criminal/embarrising not to)

Going to need to think long and hard on this one, but it would keep me busy   s:) :) s:)

I'm a little concerned in regards to the height of the headlights? does anyone have a decent link to the DOT regs regarding height/location?

I know when i made some custom rear lights for one of my cars there were regs as to the minimum height and spacing of the units on the car.

Worst scenario, build the car and it wont get through an MOT once finished.   s:cry:  s:cry:    s:cry:  s:cry:

Can't find the C&U regs, but I did find this:

Quote from: "A kit car page"Lights:
Hazards needed.
Width dimensions – maximum 400mm from edge of headlamp to most extreme projection.
Height – minimum 350mm from bottom of light to ground.
Rear lights – minimum 250mm from ground.
Reflectors (not triangular), red, on rear of front mudguard, facing to the rear.
Must have two stop lamps, separate from each other.
Registration plate must be illuminated.
Indicator lights – height, minimum 350mm from ground.
If fogs or reversing lights are fitted, they must work. Are optional.
Light switches – if fitted, must work.
Current lights have a facility to adjust.

And it might be an idea to continue this on another thread - since this was intended to be purely a big list of all the kits, rather than discussion, IIRC  s:) :) s:)

I thought I would add this for y'all.  I noticed the link to the actual TTE bumper (not the concept) was dead, i'm stateside  but got one imported a while back.

Please ignore the dirt, i'd just driven about 1200 miles to get to where I took the picture, and the Go Pro camera in the middle.

Im fairly new to the forum myself, but I thin (may be wrong) - that these are additional lips/skirts added onto the standard jap bumpers
As for the price it sounds really good - wat sort of mileage?, fsh?, bodywork condition?

I got an MR-S for £4.2k, with 40,000miles (but looking to spent just under £1k, gettn a couple of panels painted and paint restored - but looks near enuf brand new now) - maybe another £2k needed to get everythn fixed up to my liking

Personally would say that the TRIAL, Veilside, Monocraft, JDL - are the best looking kits availible for the ''2. The only problem wih kits - from previous experience, is that not only are they costly to buy/spray/fit, but these require a higher level of long term maintenance. Bearing in mind fibreglass is very brittle it will crack rather than absorb slight impact - I had people tap the bumpers when revesring and where a normal bumper would be unaffected the fibreglass was js caved in.

If the car is your daily drive, I would recommend rather than spending £'s on kits/bodyshops, to go for the spats & skirts - will save you a fortune in the long run - yet again if you do your own bodywork and use the car for show purposes go for the kits :p

Bought it with the trim kit installed. The front wind dam was damaged and removed, the 18 inch wheels are changed to 14 inch BBS, new pics soon. There is also a low profile rear spoiler on the engine lid.
