Hi All

Planning for warmer weather my AC Condenser has corroded and holds gas for about 24hrs after a regas (the rest of the system is good) Having a problem finding a new one, Toyota appear to have discontinued them, and can not find an aftermarket one. Could some confirm the Toyota part number 88460-17121 is correct? Has anyone purchased one recently?, does a Corrola one fit?

I know people that got hold of corrolla condensers and they didn't fit so it could be a bit a trial and error.
A breaker would be best IMHO.
Ask Dean at Rutland MR2 if he has any decent ones.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

He didn't last year when I asked, neither did Mr Sloane

Corolla is not the same, it's come up on the Facebook group several times.

I possibly have a brand new one up for sale come the spring depending on how my last gasp attempt to fit a new receiver dryer to my current condenser goes. Someone on FB has messaged calling dibs but will have to see if they're still interested at the time.

The part number for a UK RHD is    88460-17121

May I ask if you've had a proper pressure test carried out (not by a Kwik Fit style outfit) and if so if you've had any dye or tracer added?

Many thanks for the response.

Yes system tested by a AC specialist, they do a lot of high end repairs and checked out my whole system. There is leakage on the matrix, they tried the spray on glue fix but still losing the gas. They have tried to get a condenser for me but no luck. Trying to avoid spending too much more, but they will change it if I can supply one at a sensible price. Would be interested if you decided to sell Bossworld.

The only reason I ask about the pressure test is that the condenser on these cars includes the receiver dryer (rather than it being a separate unit).

My system was pressure tested (and holds pressure during the test) but empties itself within two days of a refill.

After the last one, I noticed that I had a pool of liquid in the corner under the receiver/dryer end of the condenser. After a lot of research online, the r/d is assembled along with a filter, and then a screw in plug that uses two o-rings.  It's these that I'm hoping have perished when I come to sort this in the spring.  Sounds like you've got a bigger leak but just thought I'd mention it in case it's occurring in the same area.

The LHD condensors annoying seem to be more readily available.  I had to pay £177 for this one (and I think Toyota RRP is £240+).  The only other place I've seen was here -  m http://www.yam6carparts.co.uk/genuine-n ... -371-p.asp m

Will put up a thread in the spring if I get away with just changing the R/D, sorry I can't give an earlier answer.
