Ok, changed the name of this thread to my build.

I've not got a big bucket of money, so most bits will be small inexpensive mods, hopefully make the car look better and a little unique. And hopefully not cheesy or chavy

I do have plans for the engine probably later this year... Now looking into turboing a recon 1zz.
I know bugger all about these cars so will need to learn as I go.

Have plans for a JDL body kit, also really like the rota grid alloys.
Lots to do probably take me a good year or so.

Had a good weekend playing around with the car...

Really enjoying this car.. Not got an unlimited pot of money but having fun doing a few bits here and there.
Takes me back 20 years to when I was 19!... I refuse to be 40 this year.

Fitted stainless manifold, cobra quad exhaust
I know it's a bit chavy but painted calipers red (I think it looks ok)

Spend 5 hours cleaning it.

Lowered it last week and fitted k&n induction kit,
After fitting the exhaust it seems really responsive now or maybe it's just me as it sounds faster!!!.


The foggy headlight is annoying me.. Is it better to just buy another, Ive read about the oven and opening up but I would probably ruin it.

Will be carbon wrapping the spoiler next weekend

Looking good Lee,the headlights can be polished up as problem is usually external on the PFL lights,but if not there are some in the sales section at present.

Exhaust sounds great.. It booms a bit too much when getting to low revs with engine braking but nothing I can't forgive when I open it up.   s:twisted: :twisted: s:twisted:

Looks great Lee. I think you have to have so many posts before you can see the for sale section but maybe someone can help with that.

Really enjoying the car, my mate has a tvr chimaera 500 and has been pestering me for the last year to buy one... I can't afford the tvr so ended up with this! And I'm impressed.

You have done an amazing job cleaning and so many mods in a short time too,personally would rather own the mr2 than a TVR,much easier to mod the mr2 and cheaper. :-) :-) :-)

Definitely cheaper.. Although I keep looking at turbo'd 2zz's on YouTube. I really need to stop.

My missus is polish and a couple of times a year goes to visit the family for 5/6 weeks, she is back in a few weeks so I'm trying to cram as much as I can on it now so she thinks I bought it like it! Then I can just shrug my shoulders in a confused manner when she asks why I'm skint... Lol.

Next time she goes, the body kit is going on.and some wheels.. Wonder if she will notice?   s:D s:D

I was under the impression my exhaust was loud, on the verge of too loud!.

Until yesterday.....

I help my mate finish up fitting a silicone hose kit to his tvr chimeara 500, it has been in pieces for a few months because of also doing some other bits including a full decat exhaust.

Filled it with water and started it up.... Oh my god! My ears

I have since come to the conclusion, my exhaust is not too loud

looks good buddy blimey you knock out those mods pretty quick, always liked that colour blue on the 2s aswell

those TVRs are so loud i had a friend who had one a few year back and it was silly loud

Playing around with the side vents today.

Drive to work was terrible, road is filthy.

One done one to go.
Didn't fancy facelift vents as everyone has them.
Hopefully they look ok
