Tbh I don't have any issues around London.
However I have had to go to 3/4 different stations in the Midlands.
Scotland isn't good away from the big cities.
And someone told me Ireland is a nightmare.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

There aren't many in Northumberland, and as we have no cities we have to stumble across one if we are out and about. The octane boost stuff has been a life saver on more than one occasion

If it's that hard maybe just have it mapped to 95.
It will make less power which you would be happier with and be lighter on the wallet.

Hoooorrrraaaaayyyyyy! It's finally happened, my car actually runs like a proper car should.

We took my car down to RRR on Friday, where Gregg got started straight away and we enjoyed Carolyn's hospitality (I would give this hotel 5 stars on trip advisor).

On Sunday lunch time the car was ready. Gregg has given me a few settings to choose from: 95, low and high boost. I took Patricks silly hat from him and insisted we start at low boost (5 psi) ....even in this mode its like a different car; no stalling, no cutting out, no stuttering, it feels like a stock mr2 with a bit more power. Once we started the trip home on the motorway I had a go at hight boost (10 psi) which was great, it doesn't kick you in the arse, it's nice and progressive. For anyone who didn't know my car before, it was mental, it took off boosting at 13psi and there was nothing progressive about it, it was a hooligan. That is gone, its fast now but not rip your face off fast.

Here's the boring bit written by Patrick:

.. How rude...

For once Helen actually managed to cover most of it, even some technical stuff.
Gregg really worked his ass off. To give an example, the last stored log started at 23:30 last night. So he was at it until past midnight.
That's dedication.
He hit some issues with AC, immobiliser, fuel pump and wiring and for two of those there were easy outs. But instead he got the wiring diagrams for the MR2 and sat there and engineered a solution.
His words; "this is a daily car, everything needs to work as it does. I will figure it out". And by jingo the bugger did.
What this means is that everything works. It's as if the car came from factory with a turbo. Few little bumps in the map, but I've already sent logs for him to smooth out the VE table.
The power isn't anywhere near what it used to be on max boost, but that's a good thing! While 13psi was fun, the engine was probably not enjoying it.
It's max setting is 0.69bar ( 10psi) running a healthy 190hp measured at the wheels (230hp flywheel). But it's how it gets there where Gregg showed his understanding of what we wanted.
It's gear and load-based; 1st and 2nd limited to 5psi. Then all gears are limited to 5psi up to a certain throttle position. So, if you want nuts, you mash your foot and you get nuts progressively building to 10psi and holding.
That's it really. It's the MR2 a lot of people want. Worth every penny spent.

Glad you are both happy.
190 @ the wheels is a nice ammount.
Hopefully a happy reliable drivable car for the foreseeable.

I remember our conversation on the Dales Drive when you said it genuinely frightened you at times so can only imagine how happy you must be to have a much more predictable car now.
I suppose it's going to be like learning to drive a new car now? That'll be fun!

Yes it's like a whole new car, I can't wait to get it out on some proper roads and learn to drive it properly

Recall Patrick saying and posting his is not well, There was the suggestion of parking next to his to compare zorsts.
I know I am on you poo list for going TTE but would still be good to put them side by side.
I might be on the look out for an SP

Congrats Helen!
So glad you have got the car working so well...now about that Sportivo suspension that Patrick was going to get you.,,

@HereComesTheWife glad you have the turbo car/set up that suits your needs better.
Like your "not rip your face off fast". No point in having that if it results in 'reupholstering your seats fast' at the sne time.
I hope you can encourage Patrick to not take the boring motorway option to DD! 8)

I am also encouraged that you were in safe hands with Gregg. Some of those comments really help to build confidence in someone working on your pride and joy. :)

Great news. Glad to hear you finally have a working solution to your car & everything is now running as it should.
Lord knows you've waited long enough.

You would never be on my poo list! Yesterday when we drove 5 hours up the A1, the sound of the SP was getting on my nerves, sometimes something a bit quieter would be nice!

Ah Gregg was great and he's set it up exactly as I wanted it, he asked loads of questions and worked super hard on it. I'm a very happy camper

I just took Helen's car out (with her permission!) for the first time since it got the EMUBlack and since last night's slight tweaks by Greg from RRR.

All I can say is...I pooped myself a little.

These cars have no business having 10psi (10.7 actually) blasting through its little pipes.
I did a full boost and full throttle pull onto the A1 (up an incline) and let's just say that A) I'm glad there were no spying eyes and B) I was kicking off the adrenaline for the next 20 minutes.

The boost selector will remain firmly in position "Low". There's no call for that much power in a 2!
