Hey Scotte, show that Rotrex some respect and clean it's living quarters...

Excellent progress though. Looks like it's meant to go there. Hope I don't have to ditch my Eaton for a Rotrex...

Can't clean it need the extra weight to aid traction .

Eaton will be great on a 1zz.
Would prefer something a little more modern from their TVS line although not sure if they do anything small enough.
On the V6 it make so much torque from idle that I don't think they're such a good idea on a light weight vehicle.
Rotrex is going to add plenty up top.
I think. :P

Storage is tight as it is.
Not too worried about the weight distribution if I was I would go for one of those tiny lithium Ion batterys.

Jump starting may be an issue, depending on how accessible the earth point back to body is. Just something to think about.  ??? ???

The +ve terminal is nicely accessible though, which is always a positive feature.  8) 8) 8) 8)

I've got one of those small ones. Just don't go for the absolute smallest. Not enough crank for a V6 as I found out. Had the smaller one fitted underneath the frunk bucket. Now fitted the next size up actually in the frunk bucket. Ok lost a bit of space but a happy compromise.

Very nice it is too.
You've got Michael's TRD charger.
You went for the Det3 too.
Interested in a ECUmaster black?
We have a group buy going but I won't have the Dosh tbh.
Shame because it wouldn't really finish the car off nicely.

Yea I bought Michael's charger but I had to import a new pulley as he was running 8psi and it would have been way too much for a stock motor. A standalone ecu was never really an option for me as I only planned to getting the bodywork sorted this winter but Patrick "persuaded" me to get the trd charger which completely blew my budget. Hopefully it'll be mapped this week and I'll be down to pick it up on Saturday.
Which rotrex are you running? Do you have any idea what sort of performance it'll make? Is your engine still on stock internals?

Engine is stock internals.
I can get forged rods for reasonable money 2gr rods fit but pistons are custom items so silly money.
The rotrex is a C30-94 which is capable of over 400 bhp.
With the bigger Supra NA injectors and charge cooler I am hoping for a very safe 280 bhp but this is in uncharted territory so we don't really know.
I have the S series gearbox so wouldn't want to push too hard.
We should be able to push much harder with a rotrex than you can with the TRD which becomes a bit of a blowtorch at high psi.
I can see no reason why these engines can't do 300bhp safely. The 1ZZ TTE turbo does over 180 from a 1.8 so the 1mz should be fine if you can keep the air cool.

Almost had that TRD until we realised it won't fit in a MK3.
Those Eaton chargers give you great boost from idle.
240 horsepower and torque minimum.
You're going to love it.

I reckon we're both going to start running into the same problems as we're at the limit of the gearbox especially if we launch the car hard. I think 300 bhp is seen as the safe limit on stock internals, I really don't want to go for a forged engine I heard Michael's 1mz did cost silly money to get forged. The trd supercharger was a very cosy fit in my car as well there was firewall cutting and engine lid adjustments needed but it's done now and I can't wait to get her back on the road. When is yours going to be finished?

Engine wise hopefully the same time as yours.
Pat was talking about sending them to Gary at the same time as they both run the same ECU and engine.

Michael spent loads on his but it can be done cheaper.
300 for rods 900 for pistons plus the rest of the rebuild costs.
Then you have to worry about the gearbox and I don't fancy an E153 so it's the auris box conversion and that's loads.

Not anytime soon.

I feel your pain, it all starts getting very expensive when you start chasing performance. I'm going to japshow at santa pod this summer so hopefully the gearbox won't shit itself. I'm not sure the wife will agree with a six speed box being necessary. [emoji23]

I've got a stock s54 box from the na mk2 and the charger is running a 5.5psi pulley as that's about as far as you can go before it starts getting too hot. She should be making around 250hp but I need to rebuild the exhaust pipes as I think they'll be a big restriction

...neutiquam erro.

Will see how much torque is being made but they are proven to survive when mated to a 2gr which makes 260 ft-lb minimum.
It's something to look into if i start having problems.

The s54 should last if you don't rough it up too much as it's the shock of hard launches that'll make it poopoo itself
