I have started striping down my spare fuel pump cage so that I can modify it ready for a fuel return system.
As part of the process I am removing the stock FPR and replacing it with a Bung

Now my question is regarding the FPR... Does it just pull out or is there a hidden clip I can't see?

Krazysteve suggested just welding up the holes in the standard FPR and popping it back in. Saves some money?
Silver 2004 MR2 -  Unmodified but very shiny.

It just pulls out Gary. I had mine blocked up and ran a return line with an FPR on the fuel rail  s:) :) s:)

I guess I need to be a little more "persuasive" I did give it a firm pull but thought here might be retaining clip on the other side

Yep... needed a little more persuasion and out she popped
MWR Bung now fitted
So if anyone wants a stock FPR let me know and I'll lob it in the post

Now to fit a fuel return

Are you fitting a Walbro 255? If so what connector are you using to link it to the Toyota original and what have you had to modify on the plastic housing? Cheers

I was planning on it, but at the moment I'm still using the stock pump as the fuel filter bag points in the wrong direction
My pump came with a plug and bare leads so I'm going to make my own lead up

You can unclip the fuel filter bag from the end of the standard mr2 pump and attach it to the bottom of the walbro with the circular clip.

If I have misunderstood and your pump is somehow different, as long as the bag still sits inside the factory tank swirl pot it should not make any difference.

It's hard to explain... but it's essentially rotated 180Deg from the stock fuel pump so the plastic cap on the bottom would need massive mods

I know it's expensive but MWR do one that is a straight swap no mods required.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
