Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone on here can help me, I have noticed that my 1zz block has marking on the head for '4zzA3' - eg it looks like its a 4zz head on a 1zz block.

This isn't an issue as the 1zz, 3zz and 4zz heads are interchangeable as they have the same bore just a different stroke.

Checking out some technical documentation on the 1zz (http://toyota-club.net/files/faq/04-01-10_rem_1zzfe_eng.htm) its noted that:

3ZZ-FE. Installed in: Avensis 220..250, Corolla 110..120..140, Corolla Verso 120..10.
4ZZ-FE. Installed in: Corolla 110..120, Corolla/Auris 150.

Compared with 1ZZ-FE some simplifications were made:
- Standard press-fit valve seats.
- Crankshaft with 4 counterweights instead of 8.
- Injectors with 4 holes in the nozzle instead of 12.

It would seem that the head might have press fit valves - which is good as it means that I don't need to worry about damaging the 1zz laser clad valves when lapping the new valves in.

Is there any way I can check to see if I do indeed have a 4zz head?
