However Ian's not sure about them on his now s:roll:  s:roll: so he put them on mine to see how they looked......

I like them on both, even though I wasn't looking for new wheels for mine s:? :? s:?

I actually like how the originals look on Ian's but he doesn't.
What do people think????
Also they came with Khumo SPT 205/45/17R 88W all round. I'm assuming that they will be ok on the front? but what size stagger would they need to be on the rear?
Not really my thing but I think they suit Ian's more!
since you asked, afraid I hate them on either, however if you must they look better with Sable
Not my cup of tea I have to say. I would personally have the originals painted black. That would suit both cars. s8) 8) s8)
I'm not really keen on them either, but think they look better on the silver car.
You do know that same size all-round isn't a good idea on the roadster?
They look far better on the silver car IMO. I tend to agree with the others. They arent really my thing but ive seen far far worse.
You need to sort the tyres out ASAP if you intend to keep them.
Not a fan of them on those colours, but they look better on the silver imo.
Anyone think they'd look good on a black '2?
Agree, they look better on his.
Epic fail on both imho.
Not really a fan of them on either car to be honest but like I say thats just a matter of taste. On the tyre front Im no expert so please someone correct me if im wrong but my guess is those tyres would be good for the rears if you could get matching brand/tread pattern tyres something like 185/45/17 if they are available for the fronts.

yes Im sure they would look better on a black.
Michelle have you seen this.

those tyres are going to be way out
ideally you want 205/40/17 front and 225/35/17 rear
Might look better all matt black instead of shiny shiny?
Looks like they belong on a fiesta or a corsa s:lol:  s:lol: Might look better black, but as they are they look cheap and tacky, sorry.
I like them on both s:D :D s:D
You need therapy curly s:P :P s:P
Here they are in black, but it does need lowering too. Even then im not keen on the wheel design. What size are they 18 or 17?

Well that's a resounding Nooo then

Definately not cheap! they are momo retailing at around £450 a set
Quote from: "Curlytoppz"I like them on both s:D :D s:D
Must be a girl thing Lynn s:wink:  s:wink:
Back to the drawing board then s:shock:  s:shock: Any one want to buy some wheels s:lol:  s:lol:
momo = soft and heavy
£450 a set is not expensive for wheels.

I didn't say they were expensive, but I wouldn't consider £450 cheap when you see what price alot are
A good set of wheels will cost you that used without tyres. £450 is a lot of money yes, but depends what you want, if you want halfords package deals then do it, if you want something good, fits, lightweight, good looking then look elsewhere, if i can't afford new id rather buy a good used set. As I say not a big fan of the wheels unless painted them look a bit chav.
Maybe its just me,but the wheels photoshopped all in black, doesn't look bad at all.
Wheel choice, like many appearance mods is so subjective. If you like it? is the most important thing.
Asking opinions on a forum like ours is like giving a baby a hand grenade, you just wait for the explosion. s:wink:  s:wink:

Yes, don't worry I won't make the same mistake again
I did ask for opinions, which 'mostly' is what I got.
Thanks to those people anyway s:) :) s:)
photoshopped all black i think they look good, even anthracite, but the silver and black noo s:P :P s:P Atleast its a learning curve haha
As I left work today I realised there's a 60 plate Porsche 911 Convertible in the carpark with wheels that look almost exactly the same as these on it.. they didn't look so bad on that, but it's a black car.
Looking at both cars the Grey looks better, but to me the tyres look to big on the front, not sure if you can change the front profile or even go to a 16" rim, I think that will give a better impression.
But Nigel is right, sometimes it better to just turn up with your mods as they often look 10 times better in the flesh.
The thing is if you like them, then stick with it, take no notice of what beens said here, although you did ask, I mean Al doesn't know if his areshole is punched, drilled or bored s:lol:  s:lol: s:lol:  s:lol: s:lol:  s:lol: s:lol:  s:lol:
Rob.
s:lol:  s:lol: That did make me laugh Rob! Al is pretty constructive here, and good with the photoshop. s:wink:  s:wink:

Yep he is - he's knows it's all tongue in cheek. s:D :D s:D s:wink:  s:wink:
Haha bit of friendly banter never hurt, i admit I am indecisive though s:P :P s:P
As for Photoshop, I hope im ok at it s:P :P s:P After all thats my job s:lol:  s:lol: That was literally two mins of effort. These on the other hand were a bit more work.
here is the original vw picture, it had to be cut, re coloured, for a launch brochure.

Looks like the pics are being downsampled on the robin hood pics for osme reason, screen is really light and bright but they look real dark on here.
yes al but are you sure your indecisive s:lol:  s:lol:

s:lol:  s:lol:
Michelle, if you and Ian like them, keep them and get the tyres sorted. I think they look mint on yours.... pay no notice to these peasants s:lol:  s:lol:
Well to be fair you ask for opinions you get them
An it's looks amazing is no more likely to affect my decisions than an it looks sshit shit sshit
Looks are always subjective if you like it that's all that matters
Perhaps, along the lines of the swear filter, we could put something in place that ensures when opinions are asked for only those that the op agrees with can be posted?
Just a thought.
IMO Ilogik describes well both the initial problem and the possible solution.
straight out of the box, those wheels remind me of cars like this:
m http://www.barryboys.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=33744 (http://www.barryboys.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=33744) m
Or maybe of the sort of wheels Corgi would fit if your car was only 3 inches long.
Refinishing in black is generally going to much improve the appearance of any questionable wheel style or size, The wheels also look visually too big to me, but again this would be masked somewhat by a black refurb which will blend the wheel much more into the tyre.
If you are going to go to that effort though, then as someone else has already said, you would be much better off IMO refurbing your original Factory alloys in black. The end result visually might not be too different with either wheel in black, but the aftermarket ones are still going to leave you with the headache of sorting out replacement tyres to sort the tyre stagger and I would expect they will also to some extent spoil the ride & handling of the car on account of being bigger and heavier than the original wheels.
Oh and forgot to add that if you do go the stock wheel refurb route your Momos will at least come in handy by keeping the car off the floor until you get 'em back s:D :D s:D
