Title: Chilli Red Issues
Post by: normanh on May 26, 2013, 21:15
Like many owners of 2's in this red mine has suffered a little lacquer peeling od the door mirrors so today took the advantage of giving both a light rub down with some 1200 grit wet n dry in soapy water didnt take much but I wasnt looking for a fully perfect job just a bit tidier the white blisters. I had ordered some spray paint from Mr T but was supprised that it comes in 150ml tins not the standard 300mm for Duplicolour makes etc. Any how sprayed up pretty well apart form one small run - didnt want to take the chance of rubbing it all back fully as I didnt think I would have enough paint. The red is a base coat finish which means no sparkle or gloss finish. To finish I used a good few liberal coats of Halfrauds clear spray lacquer that sprays pretty well, just needs polishing back now much improved look to the blistered finish when its all hardened off a bit. And of course I get the odd greenfly land in the lacquer!
