Title: So a doughnut hit my car...
Post by: rokz_2005 on September 19, 2017, 11:19
Car was parked end of my road and a doughnut was doing a U turn and hit my car and drove off - witness told me.

Quite upset. I got the necessary parts to put it back together however I'm really struggling to pull a part out which screws onto the front of the wing, behind the headlight.
The bit that I cant pull out can be seen on two of the images (close up shots). I was wondering if someone could recommend a repair shop within London or advise a fix?

See link for pics.

(can i upload flickr images directly to post?)

The album contains images of damage and then post repair.

The alignment is slightly off as well. The bonnet on that side is sitting slightly higher and appears to have been pushed by a few mm to the other side.

I am sure that if you can be a little patient, you will locate a used black front bumper and wing fairly cheaply and not need a body shop.  That way you will have your car back and perfect, and won't need to sell it at all. Besides to be frank, its not going to sell for much without the repair, so you should buy the wing and bumper/ install them regardless.

Oh i've done the repair. Pic in link. Repair looks good. Just looking for a bumper now.
My plan was to add a bodykit, wrap it then finally do a engine tune/conversion. But with the internal support being damaged, even though it's hidden, i don't feel good about it. Plus the alignments a bit off so I wanted to go to someone recommended.
Once I replace the bumper you wont be able to tell its been repaired... but I want it to be perfect 'cos im planning to spend a substantial amount on it.

I need to angle grind the crumpled piece of and weld in a new support piece. However my skill set isn't enough.
