Post by: michaelb on December 13, 2017, 17:06
Anyone used Redex to clean the system out?

Fifth gear did and liked it.

It's worth a go, one of the first things I do when I change car.

Fresh tank of fuel and a drop of redex.

Personally I prefer Cataclean to redex

Run the car down till the petrol light comes on, add cataclean with about a fivers worth of petrol
Drive spiritedly on private roads using all the rev range (I believe the technical term is "Italian Tune Up")
When fuel light comes on again, refill as normal.

Highly regarded by rotary owners

I'm running redex and shell v power in the same tank and it's like a different car
tick over very smooth throttle response up
Redex £4
Got some pro stuff when first brought the car did not notice ANY difference
£12

If you're lucky Tesco often have Redex half price for £2 or so, just make sure it's the right one as they have petrol and diesel ones next to each other and often mixed up.

Imho the odd tank of Vpower does the trick.

Wurd. Tops of my pistons look smashing so no dodgy buildup. Vpower does the trick

Can't hurt but running slightly better fuel should keep everything clean anyway.

I threw in some redex today  s:) :) s:)
I had run out of fuel so had to get Jet 95. Compensated by putting in redex heheh
