Anyone removed the rear lights with the duck tail TTE spoiler on?
As you can see (pic below) it wraps around the light so can it be done ?
I'm changing the left hand lens as it was recently cracked.

Nope.
Worst part of that spoiler.
StuC may know.
I thought Matt had worked out a way.
Only reason I don't have one is this trouble.
Best spoiler.
Good luck.
I am sure someone (was it @StuC (https://www.mr2roc.org/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=15683) ?) said it could be done by loosening the bumper at the top to give some wiggle room?
The main reason it won't come out is because the light has a peg on the outer side. If you remove the peg it's probably still very secure but you can get the light out (maybe)

That sounds like a plan I'll give it a go when the lens is delivered tomorrow.
The lens from the dealer was only £28 but the gasket was £38.68 !
I have heard that you can use O' ring rubber cord but I'm not sure of the size?
It's cheep enough on Amazon :

I was looking to change my rear number plate trim for the FL one. I managed to get enough wiggle room to move the lower portion of the bumper to do the swap.
I never managed to solve the Ducktail Paradox!!! :-(
The only advice to new owners would be to not adhere it to the bumper. It has enough fixings without needing the bonding as well.
Doesn't help current owners though.
One abstract thought has occurred though. Can you loosen the rear quarter enough to change the lamp?
Would I be able to take off the lens without taking the light fully out of place ? :-\
I've done it. Remove the top bumper fittings and the fittings in the wheel arch. This should give you enough wiggle room. Just! It's very tight. Before I put the lamps back in I cut off the lugs at the side so I had more wiggle room. I then used a small self tapper where the lug was to secure it. Much easier to get out now. Still a pain if I'm honest.
@mikek (https://www.mr2roc.org/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=22649) perhaps you need to give a paradox masterclass at Ding Day
Perhaps
Thank's Mikek
I'll be giving that ago tomorrow, I'll let you all know how it went.
I'm going in, I may be a while ;)

Actually undoing the two outermost bolts on the spoiler is easier than this and allows you to (just) squeeze the headlight out.
To be honest I now know by feel where the bolts are so it's not that bad.
10 Ratchet spanner in hand and 5 mins and the spoiler is off anyway. It's just a pain in the hoop.

Bonded in???? Which ape sorted that out?
Why did they think the 6(?) bolts wouldn't hold?
..good luck :)

Tell me about it! It's such an unnecessary pain. [emoji853][emoji853][emoji853]
Mines the same, no way it's coming off the bumper
Genuinely no clue then on how you get access without breaking stuff. I guess you can undo most of the bumper and try to undo bolts as much as possible that way?
Welcome to the paradox!!
The best bit is you can't take the bumper off without getting the lights out!
