Title: Oily valves, need advice
Post by: Nvy on July 8, 2023, 13:14
As I was cleaning the exhaust to piece the car together I had a look on the exhaust valves. Most of them seem a bit oily and black on top, the engine havent been started for the better part of two years. Am I in big trouble?

I tried to take couple of pics:

It will probably be ok, if a bit smokey on first start-up.

It is possible to change the valve seals without taking the head off, IF it's a problem, which is not that likely.

I made a special tool to do it.

Thanks, ill fire it up and drive it for a while. Need to run couple of reservoirs of fuel before this fall.

If I take the head off will do a rebuild and P&P in preparation for the turbo.
