What cars behind never saw any ofe you once we left the car park. 😜

Think I posted before about my IAT being 60c well that was incorrect tonight I've had another look and I saw peak of 60 through second to 5th changing up at 6k rpm.
The 60 is in Fahrenheit not celcius which means it's 15c this now seems too low ambient tonight is 13c according to the BBC.

Dont know weither to be happy about such low IAT or to question the sensor.

Anyway changing up a 6k rpm as I get belt slip which I will get sorted ASAP I see 8.6 psi boost. Would be surprised if I don't see another 1 psi more minimum with an extra 500rpm and a gripping belt.

Did you get a go in Chris's 2gr?
That thing was mental.
With properly sorted suspension and R888 it cornered like nothing else I've been in.

OK time to get Bee6 going again just ordered this

https://www.amazon.co.uk/NOCO-GB40-UltraSafe-Lithium-Starter/dp/B015TKUPIC?ref_=ast_slp_dp&th=1

Pricey but I've found the my artech one won't start either my 1.6 automatic or the V6 so I thought I'd try something pricier.
As my battery charger has had it too I thought this would cover the bases. We shall see.

I've been pondering getting one of these to leave in the car(s) so I'll be interested to hear your experiences. How many amps did you go for?

@househead

1000amps.
Overkill for a 1zz but i need something that's works with diesel and my V6 too.
This should crank a 6L petrol or 4L diesel.

I have a small one that you are welcome to have but it would never work with a dead battery on my mums 1.6 auto or my V6.

I've got a "Suaoki G7 Plus Portable 600A, 18000mAh" - but that lives in the Audi - it's useful as a battery pack, air pump, etc.... but it's a pretty chunky bit of kit to lug around in a MR2.

Given that the 600A was enough to jump start various V6 TDI's and also to jump start my V6 petrol (3.0 s'charged) at least 3 times off a single charge, I figured that 600A was plenty juice for an MR2.... but I went for a more compact looking model - the "TACKLIFE T6 Car Jump Starter - 600A 16500mAh Power Pack with Dual USB Charging Ports, LED Flashlight, and 12V Cigarette Lighter Adapter"

I've not given it as much of a thorough testing, but it seems to do all the same stuff as the Suaoki, but in a package that is about a quarter of the size and weighs about a third of the old one...

I think it's probably worth having one that would start *most* engines, since it might well come in useful for a family members' or friend's (or even a roadside damsel/dame in distress') car before needing to use it myself.

Cheers for the offer but I'll hold out for a "biggie"! :D

I guess that jump leads are too last century for you guys.
Of course, you do need another, similar or larger powered car to use these and I totally get why the modern starter pack appeals but I've managed with jump leads for a long time. As @headcase  suggested, I've likely "rescued" more third party cars than I have my own, which is not very often.
I did start my car, one very cold morning, with the aid of a milk float, plenty of power there.

1979scotte

@Joesson

I don't own any jump leads and a decent set would be £20+ I would imagine.

The van and the Focus are a ball ache to access the terminals to jump the 2 or the mr2 support polo.

Received the Noco today impressed with the heft and solidity of the unit. Not proof that it's any better than the cheaper offerings but it feels much better made.

@1979scotte , please realise that my first car also had a starting handle, not that I 'd want to hand crank Bee6(S)!
I totally get why you would want a power pack for your vehicles, if you can't get your van going you are not going to be earning that day. That scenario no longer applies to me and you can't guarantee a milkfloat appearing when you need one
