Ben, what and why have you done to the JDL front?
And have youdont it to customise or because it needed repair ?

I'm modifying the sides of the bumper like that:

JDL Stock:

JDL Moded:

Stock JDL got a "line" going to the front of the bumper till the air scoop, and i want to mod this and make it go to the bottom of the bumper like a stock bumper.

I think this will make the JDL front less "ricey" more smoothed, and I'll have another custom part like my rear TRC with 2003+ inserts :p

the fiberglass on that jdl bumper looks so skinny. My trial bumper is about 3 times the thickness.

yes it's really "cheap" i was very disappointed of the quality when received it. It's ok cause i modify it, so I can reinforce it with resin while I work on the "mods"

I still have to put carbon fiber reinforcement in the corners and expansive PU foam in the bottom/center of the the spoiler.

It's a 300 bucks spoiler compared to my old 850+ TS but u know why when u receive it :p

BTW with some skills and time (lot of time) u can do something nice and strong with it.

Care to elaborate on what exactly you'll be using to reinforce it, and where?

Here is what I use:

Fiberglass, carbon fiber, expansive PU foam, reinforced resin, PU resin....

Here is what I did yet:

And what I still hv to do:

And still have to make some custom extra mounts to bolt the spoiler like a stock one (or good brand one...)

-Mounts in the bottom center (bolted under the radiator)
-Mounts in bottom corners (bolted to stock fender liners)

Massively impressive mate. Kudos to you!

Whats the deal with the carbon fibre? I didnt know it could be used in this sort of application. How do you attach/stick it?

Ilogik

#41
thats wicked! might have to do that on the back side of my trial where it keeps chipping chunks of it when hitting speed bumps.

nice video tutorial about CF skinning  s;) ;) s;)

That's how I did my valve cover, center console.... and of coz reinforcement with CF use the same technic but u dun need to make the last boring part to make it glossy :p Just need PU resin and some carbon fiber fabric.

Carbon Mods are the same people that made my valve cover, they sell C/F kits on Ebay or direct.
