With the Radio (original stock pre-facelift) switched off - the aerial still raises and then lowers on engine shutdown - Is this the norm?

Sounds like it has been wired up differently.  Perhaps someone 'tinkered'!!
My aerial only raises when I select the 'Tuner' function on the stereo.

Thought so - My Mk2 did the same as yours - looks like "it'll be fingers" in tomorrow!!
