You guys would bottle it at marble arch.
The big smoke is a little advanced for those who are accident prone.  s;) ;) s;)
We don't have sheep just millions of cyclists.
A Sunday morning tour could be a laugh in the summer.

Anyway this is getting a bit off topic.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Got to start them off easy mate and build up to Hyde Park Corner.
I find driving a lwb high top makes it much easier.  s;) ;) s;)  People do seem to give way. Don't know why.  s:lol:  s:lol:

Hyde Park Corner is no fun in anything less than 18 tonnes!
Scare the hell out of the locals, and all their expensive cars  s:D :D s:D
The Sun is out, the sky is blue,
The roof is down on my MR2,
And I\'m grinning, grinning ear to ear!

Just back from Swansea and another excellent job by Ray...

Trying to keep a 2002 pre-facelift MR2 Mk3 on the road...in every sense.

I park mine on the road. Is there any reason not to go mohair? Are there issues with looking after it, or is it just the usual 'keep it clean, and keep it treated'?
I had a couple of canvas ragtops in my youth, so I'm used to looking after them properly. Just never had a mohair...

CMH - Nice job ! Ours could be twins !

Following Treboeth's request, here's an update on my red mohair roof that I had fitted by Ray back in June.

It's all good really. Very good.

- the red is more prone to marking than black vinyl, so keep the black plastic rear deck surround clean as mine isn't and leaves black marks on the roof after it's been folder. These come off easily with a good wash.
- I used it all over the summer and left it outside in the sunshine and there are no signs of the colour fading, though I suspect it's too early to tell at this point.
- DON'T leave it under trees if you can help it - I can't avoid it on my drive and the sap they drop onto the roof overnight is incredible - really sticky horrible stuff. But again, quick clean with soap and water and it comes off.
- I've applied at least 4 coats of waterproof protector in the last 4 months. This helps to keep the dirt off too. Once washed, it looks brand new every time.
- General fit and finish is still excellent - the hood folds down well if handled with a little care to ensure it has cleared the windowframe rails both sides (and not just dropped from a height). It fits properly, is nice and taut, no wind rattle and definitely no leaks, even at high speed and bad rain.
- In short, 4 months in and I'm still delighted with it. Regardless of price, I think it is a great asset, but taking the price into account as well, it's a total bargain.

Hope that helps anyone considering doing it.

As for Gerard, the upholster (Ray's brother-in-law), when we were there in June, there was a possibility that he was moving out of the premises. This might have happened and may explain why people have struggled to get hold of him.

Another mohair tip, to add do not jet wash it as you would the bodywork, glancing blows from a distance, no concentration of power, also dont rub hard at it.

Have to say im very happy with my hood, its no work of art looking closely there are a few imperfections, but it does the job and looks good.

The rear window seal in 1 corner is not 100% aesthetically pleasing, but is a sealed unit? The fabric below it is not of even lengths this is shown by the slight slack in the centre if the window yet tight to the left and right of it. If you look straight down the seam that goes across the width of the hood above the window, you would expect this to be pretty straight, but it isn't. Im a perfectionist though remember haha
