(I think this is the right place for this query?)

I'm looking to swap out my standard FL leather seats for some low priced/bargain buckets. The search function has retrieved some posts of people with very nice seats in, but I'm not looking to get anything snazzy.
I can't seem to find on here what the recommended / standard seat height is? Naturally I don't want to find I can't close my soft top   s:lol:  s:lol:
Years ago I picked up some pretty low cost Cobra Clubmans off ebay - are they too tall by the time I mount them?
I read that the oem seat subframes are quite complex, so I guess I'll be looking to mount the buckets to the original frame

Thanks   s:D :D s:D

be wary of some of the cheaper seats, the quality of construction is not good and have been know to fall apart in an accident

Rogue make brackets for mounting bucket seats, they look pretty decent quality from the build threads i've seen. Second hand FIA expired seats will probably be your best bet, otherwise Sparco Sprints seem reasonable value and look nice imo.

That's what I'm unsure about. I could find some nice looking ones or some bargains, but they're no good if they're too tall or wide. Does anyone know the dimensions of what'll fit? I've got my measuring tape out, but it's more like guess work :-/

If those work i could be interested.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

They are extremely comfortable and wear very well.
Fitting them is a question that may be answered this weekend. I think they may sit a little higher as they have all the electrical gubbins underneath for the seat motors.  Another factor that may put some people off will be weight.... they're quite heavy

Are you looking to have them powered as part of the install?

Yep... and the heating as well

I have all the wiring diagrams and its pretty straightforward.  Don't think I'll try wiring the Airbags tho   s:shock:  s:shock:

Yeah, best avoid those. That could get messy. Without the proper sensors and ecu its pointless anyway.

Interested to see how they go in.

Just out of interest, how do you find the stock seats and their positioning?

On the run from Essex to Beaulieu I suffered with some back ache and numb bum, but on the whole pretty good

I like the stock seats but a little more support would Make them better

I think stock seats are pretty good tbh but maybe i have a bit more padding than average.

Do the standard seats have more rollover protection built in than other ones?

I have no idea but I think its something to bear in mind.

I seem to remember reading that Rogue charge an absolute premium for those brackets   s:? :? s:?   Worth a hunt for some bargains though I guess!

So it appears that it doesn't matter too much on seat sizes then?... Or does nobody really know?  s:lol:  s:lol:
