My parts people are chimps so i will need to show them... this will be located under the plastic, near the rear storage bins... right? or is it the bolt thats mounted to the floor? (sorry, bad day!)

yep top ones. Pop the plastic and look at the bracket that the top of the belt mounts to. Whatever bolts are thereis what you'll need.

Not sure what is considered cheap in UK, but Thodwris is organizing a GB for hardtops. Current price is 1845e (a bit under £1300) and the tops can be picked (or shipped) from Germany.

Check Spyderchats International forum.
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

Had a chat with my parts chap at the dealer today. In order to get the trim panel off. The lower seatbelt mount will need removing.

(This is not near the pretensioner for those worried)

part number for teh bolt is 90109-11040

you'll need 2.

The bad news is that there are none in the UK and your looking a minimum of 2 weeks from Belgium, more if it's from Japan.

The other bad news is I forgot to get the price. Still it's a bolt how bad can it be.

I may have found somewhere on line where these parts are cheaper.  I am waiting for a quote on all of the fixing kits (except quarter panels) but the sample prices i have so far just on four of the items was about 20% cheaper than Toyota includng their parcleforce delivery charge.
I will post the prices and details of the site once i have them confirmed.

Right people I need as much info as I can regarding what's needed for fitting a hard top that I am hoping to get.  So far I have got the following list:

Side Panels RH 62511-07090 £58.42
Side Panels LH 62512-17080 £58.44
Locking Post 69431-17011 £60.05
Locking Post 69432-17011 £60.05
Lockdown Bracket 58395-17020 £19.23
Lockdown Bracket 58396-17020 £19.23
Defroster Cable 82187-17030 £10.51
Plate Cover Hook 69341-17010 £14.22
Plate Cover Hook 69342-17010 £14.22
Cover Plug 63259-17010 £22.56
Seat Belt Lower Bolt 90109-11040 £?

Are there any extra parts required?  Are they any unneccessary parts like covers holder that I can forget to keep the costs down?

I am hoping to get my car in order before I go to collect the hardtop.  Unfortunately the car that the top came from was written off whilst the top was off so I have to source the fitting parts myself.

I made a real cheapmans list and with a 10% discount from my dealer managed to get the kit down to £180ish.

You can pass on the covers, plastic panels etc if your willing to cut your own panels.

Blimey you sound like an expert!  So they are plastic interior panels.  Hmmm I'm a clumsy bugger so I may pay instead.  I can get the top for £400 and say £300 for the kit then it's a hard top for £700.  Reasonable enough you think?

Comer - have a look at  m http://www.spydermagazine.com/2000/Oct/ ... ardtop.htm m  , this will give you an idea of the differences between the current side panels and the new (cutout) ones.
I will be having a go at cutting them, it doesnt look that bad, and will save about £120+  :-) :-) :-)

Cheers Leon (apologies for missing the accent on the letter e!).

I think I will have a go at cutting my panels as well.  Have you bought everything you need?  Do you have a complete list including bolts of what is needed.  I printed off 3 different lists last night and all have some common parts but some have extra bits!!!

Getting the list ready will be the easy part for me.  Getting Mr T to order them is something I'm not relishing!!

When i was looking for the kit my local dealer had no problems ordering parts for me (although i didnt get them in the end)... he was well impressed with the fitting kit list and said it was a good idea and he has seen a lot of people do it. I think as long as you have the part numbers, just give them a list and they will be ok.

One thing i did find was that the screws are the hardest things to find and almost all of them on the list would have had to come from belgium or something! crazy aint it!

Ok I'm going to call Camden tomorrow (number anyone?) because I'm at work in my new job and I'm too scared to call or surf for long!

Locking Post 69431-17011 £60.05
Locking Post 69432-17011 £60.05
Bolts for posts 75599 -17010 x 2 £?
Bolts for posts 75599 -17020 x 2 £?
Bolts for posts 75599 -17030 x 2 £?

Lockdown Bracket 58395-17020 £19.23
Lockdown Bracket 58396-17020 £19.23
Bolts for above 90148 - 60056 x 4 £?

Plate Cover Hook 69341-17010 £14.22
Plate Cover Hook 69342-17010 £14.22

Miscellaneous bits that I'm not sure about are:

Cover Plug 63259-17010 £22.56
Seat Belt Lower Bolt 90109-11040 £?
Plastic Clip 90467 - 10161 x 2 £?

Two things I may not order until after to see whether they are on the top itself are:

Bracket connected to hardtop 63203 - 17041 x 2 £
Defroster Cable 82187-17030 £10.51

If anyone has done this successfully and knows of extra parts or some that I have listed unnecessarily then please SHOUT!

Oh and if anyone fancies leaving their hard top off this weekend to help me bring one back from Cambridge then also shout.  Cheeky I know but if you don't ask you don't get   s:twisted:  s:twisted:

Oh   s:oops:  s:oops:

Sorry to extend this thread even longer but what is this hardtop fitting kit guide and does anyone have it?

I promise that once this is done I will put a definitive list of necessary part numbers and prices for a fitting.
