Good afternoon all, me again!  :)
After some advice please. Although my headlights are nice and clear they suffer from two issues. Firstly, the acrylic covers, although clear, have lots of tiny stress fractures which really show up with the lights on and, also, they mist up on the inside a bit so I'm guessing the seal has failed to some degree. I think I read somewhere how you can warm the units up and split them apart?? but I can't find it now.
If this is possible I might buy some new, Jap-spec lights, which have slightly different internal construction, and swap over the acrylic lenses?
Anyone had their headlights apart? Any advice appreciated. Cheers.

Excellent, thank you. The second link is exactly what I was looking for!
Turns out the only difference with the Japanese spec lights is the cap in front of the bulb but they operate and perform exactly the same so I'll probably just replace them as is.
Cheers.

Call the midlife!

When you say Jap spec what exactly do you mean? Out of curiosity.
60% of the time it works everytime...

Apparently, they are what's fitted to our cars for the Japanese market. They differ only in the lack of the small cap in front of the bulb. MR2-Ben say they operate and perform exactly the same as the UK spec ones with no issues.

I had those on my MR-S.  I've still got them in my pile of parts, but the lenses were getting a bit far gone.
