While checking the oil yesterday (never seem too lose any) I added another bit of bling/shiny

I hope you're not referring to the oil dip stick.   That shouldn't look shiny.

Maybe I have ARD ( whatever that is) as the lack of symmetry jarred a little

Just thinking. How about chroming the heat shield over the back box to match.

Technically I think the back box heat shield is matt black to help radiate heat out of the back while at the same temperature me preventing convection into the engine bay while the one on the manifold is silver to keep as much heat in as possible  . so @TheTigerUK has actually increased efficiency with his selective chroming!

That can be easily rectified.
