Good afternoon all, after all my questions hopefully this will give a little back.  :)
My car had spent it's life in a garage but now lives outside. After a couple of weeks I noticed the passenger floor carpet was soaking wet. It turns out I had the nasty leak that runs down the back of the dashboard, via the fusebox onto the passenger floor. I read all the posts about it and followed any advice offered like checking the butyl seals on the back of the door rubbers but everything looked perfect and just as it should be. The rubbers themselves are factory fresh, like brand new. The door rubbers are very complex with internal drainage tubes so I decided to test them out. I pulled the seals out from the windscreen trim so I could see the back and insides, then, using a large syringe I squirted water down the internal tubes but it emerged exactly where it should and out the door opening. Then, on pulling the seal back right at the bottom of the windscreen trim, I noticed a small pocket in the rubber seal with a hole at the back. I squirted some water in there and hey-presto there it was inside the fusebox and onto the carpet! I dried the little pocket and applied some black silicone in there and squidged it in the small hole. Tucked the seal back into the trim and waited for some rain. Well after many, many days of heavy rain, often wind driven, the passenger carpet is still bone dry. Happy days! (I hate leaks!!). Hope that description makes sense and helps someone out.
