Short and sweet introduction...
Bought this car about 9 months ago from a member on here who I think had owned a few (not sure if he's still here or not),
at the time I wasn't sure if it was going to be a stop gap before buying something a bit bigger that makes more wooshy noises or if I'd end up keeping it.
After a lot of thinking over the last few weeks I've eventually decided (after nearly buying a 2zz!) that the route of action is to turbo the 1zz with a goal
of starting off anywhere over 200brake to begin with but with some room to get a bit more in future if I buy the right bits.
Nothings been bought yet and the cars in fairly standard condition but this should hopefully be the beginning of me acquiring the bits I need before buying
a banger and taking it off the road for a few weeks!

(My old corolla in the background...slight change of car!)
I've owned a few M-X-5's (...sneaky forum and its auto changing words..) and things, a 325 drift car and a fair share of FWD hatchbacks but this is by far the car the only car that has been fun enough to
stay stock for this long...and yet I've still ended up planning to modify it!
Hopefully get a few more posts in here over the next few weeks once i get sorted
Turbo = more fun

That's the hope... the other hope is not ending up backwards in a hedge!

First piece of the puzzle.
Looking at ECU options and manifolds now so if anyone wants to sell me a powerfc or T2/T3 manifold that would be great s:D :D s:D
I've got T3 manifold for sale If you want (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170225/c8fec37fe54ad07f8a712053d033bbcb.jpg)

How much are you wanting for that manifold? I'll be honest I've been looking at the cheaper cast T2 manifolds with an internal gate so that would be a wee bit of a change!
250£ (including shipment)

Very interested, any info on what sort of stainless it is? or make (can see the imprint but cant make it out)
If you're looking to turbocharge, I highly recommend this book

I own the above book, provided me with a few bits of fairly useful information all though I'm going a fairly different route with some bits s:) :) s:) . I've only really read the MR2 section so far like and skimmed through the tuning (I'll be paying someone else to map mine... I mapped my previous piggyback myself but that was a pretty dodgy build!). Intend to give a better read through the other sections shortly. (Turbo charging an NA car is something I've done before but the book does provide some nice information!)
So the intercooler turned up today. Turns out the dimensions were wrong... But I'm sure something can be done to make it work...somehow!

Sadly this car has been destroyed by a drunk driver while I was still building the turbo kit, I guess all the bits will be for sale on here soon! (:< >:)

Terrible news.
A sad sight Jim, really sorry to hear and see this. 😒
Hey man- so sorry to see that happen...
The damage looks largely cosmetic though? I'm I wrong?
A new rear 1/4 panel can be had really cheaply...

Insurance company will write it off, just depends how they grade it. One of the trailing arms is bent to hell making the wheel point in the wrong direction and the fairly expensive imported alloys are absolutely destroyed (:< >:)
I'll report back once its been looked at!
