After market steering wheels.
They get rid of the airbag so how do you stand in insurance ?
It's a notifiable change - prepare to be charged extra, assuming they will insure you at all due to the greater risk of a PI claim.

Always best to declare all your planned mods at renewal time as they are more likely to want your business and be competitive about it.
Any mods mid term could attract admin fees and possible rip off!

All too true.
Never mod mid term you will be abused.
Just be aware that if you predeclare mods then they need to be carried out within usually 2 weeks of the policy starting - otherwise you are driving a car that is different to the insurance you have taken out. Its best to check with your insurance company, I for one after driving my older cars are thankful that my steering wheel now has an air bag - for a road car without a cage and harnesses I wouldn't mess with air bags.

I would never put an aftermarket wheel in without airbags unless I was putting in bucket seats and a harness.

Shnazzle, has your airbag been affected by your retrim?
Not that I know. Of I believe the whole panel comes off, upwards or downwards.
If it does shoot out the middle bit then yes I have an issue
Normally the cover will swing either upwards or downwards. I doubt the retrim will affect the operation in any way
so no one has fitted a smaller 300ml racing wheel?

has made me think about the steering wheel budget in a whole new way!
Hi changed my wheel for OMP wheel with flat bottom (easier to get in and out of car), had to get correct Boss with airbag resistor etc from Japan, notified insurance company no extra cost but they updated the policy details. NOTE if you remove your wheel with airbag ask insurers first before doing.
I have a momo 350mm on mine, much nicer than the standard wheel which is 370mm. I originally had a 320mm wheel on but found it too small so swapped it. I Will have a 350 mm momo jet wheel with silver carbon inserts for sale at the end of the week.

The operation of the airbag isn't impeded by the leather cover in any way. The original plastic face, as has been said, is effectively hinged so, when the airbag deploys, the cover moves out of the way (rather than being fired forwards).
I've fitted the leather in such a way so that it doesn't interfere with anything at all. Should the worst ever happen and the airbag deploys, it'll function exactly as Toyota intended it to.
