Title: Decat Manifold Question???
Post by: MR2Adam on January 15, 2018, 15:51
Just received a lovely decat Manifold and getting it fitted next Monday (at last!).

But once fitted, does the car throw up any engine codes. If so, what's the best thing to do?

Or does the car register a decat manifold just fine?

No it should be fine - no codes.

However, just to clarify that. You should not get a code becasuse there are no cats.
But, you might get a code as the sensors are very delicate and dont like to be looked at in the wrong way, let alone disturbed.
If you do get a code, I wager a virtual beverage of choice, it will be the heater circuit.

That is a very good point they aren't really cats.
So should the car also run better without having to do anything else other than just fitting it too?

They are cats.

Nothing else needed. Won't make a lick of difference.
But it's peace of mind  s:) :) s:)
