Title: Finally getting my '2!

After deciding a year ago that I wanted a '2 and then not being able to get the money for one   s:cry: :cry: s:cry:   (had to cope with an A3 for a year, actually a very nice car), I have now put a deposit down for a '2   s:D :D s:D  

Wasn't going to look for one till May/June but saw an offer I couldn't refuse.

Black 53 Reg MR2
Less than 3000 miles

No leather or AC but I can cope with that for the price I got it at.  Should be picking it up next Wednesday.

Woo Hoo!!!

Might pay off a bit of the loan first!  Although I have my eye on a few mods, have to get some J-spec badges first, love them!

Agh the waiting is torturous!  Can't wait till Wednesday!

Hope the weather is nice for the drive back from Derby.

I could not imagine what a 6 week wait for a new car would be like!

Picking it up at 4.  I'm at work at the moment (although I can't actually concentrate on work) and its sunny outside, just hope it will stay sunny later.

I plan to get the roof down don't worry!

I'll be coming down the M1 in rush hour so I'll probably end up breathing in the fumes from all the lorries but hey.  If anyone sees me, give me a wave!

Ah, did a search as I didn't know what the hell Mongo's are.  They look pretty nifty!  Think they might be one of my first purchases for my '2

Really good – they enable you to go faster with the windows down and remove much of the (painful) buffeting.

Well I left sunny hertfordshire this afternoon thinking when I get my '2 I'll be able to drive it all the way home with the top down.  But no, its pouring with rain in Derby, and then most of the way home too.  Managed to get the top down for a bit after dark though and I've only seen one other '2 since I've had mine...that was in Harpenden at 7:30, it was silver with a hard top.  I flashed the lady in it but didnt really get much of a reaction, just hope she didn't think I was flashing to let her on the mini roundabout and then cruise over it myself anyway, oh well.

First day of my '2 anyway.  Hoping for a nice morning to drive to work top down   s:D :D s:D

I hope it was as nice where you are as it is down here in Surrey. Beautiful drive to work this morning.  I have only had my '2 since September it has been really good fun so far but I can't wait for some proper nice sunny weather.   s8) 8) s8)    s8) 8) s8)    s8) 8) s8)

I'm around that area a lot so will probably see you around. Played rugby against St.Albans last Saturday, which as you probably know is just by London Colney. We played in Welwyn the week before. I have friends in London Colney too and relatives in St.Albans. Commute between MK and Harrow. Hope to see you at some future meets   s:wink: :wink: s:wink:

Oh yeah, it was a gorgeous morning.  Drove to work with the top down and I'm loving it!  Was driving like a bit of a winker and the back slipped out coming off a roundabout but I managed to correct it without hitting it.  Changed my driving route to include better driving roads and less motorway (work in Stevenage so my route is normally the A1M).

Although I only saw one other convertible with their top down - a 206 cc.  Saw loads of mx5's mgtf's and some other 206's, audi's, an escort and a punto looking sad with their roof up.  Although a guy at work arrived this morning with his (wifes) mx5 top down.
