Title: Hardtop cable connector
Post by: bobbe on October 23, 2023, 10:51
Does anyone know what the actual connector for hardtop demister cables is? One end of mine has become a bit mangled in the softtop mechanism and I am loathe to buy a whole new cable when I can simply swap in a new connector for a fraction of the price

For reference - here are photos of the end that isn't mangled:

The only markings on it are 'IIIB' and '1' and '2' for the pins

Thanks!

Okay, a bit of internet detective work tells me that the part number for the connector seems to be 90980-10916. Also findable as 82998-12380. This is the same connector Toyota uses for the blower motor in some models (and possibly elsewhere)

I'll order one and check the fit, but it looks right

So, there you go. If you have similarly mangled the end of your demister cable, you don't need to spend £20-30 on a new one - you should be able to pick up a new connector with a pigtail from ebay for about £6, or a new connector on its own for less than that on AliExpress
