Guys,
Please only post pics of wheels on your roadster and onli f you can state make and mode.
If possible I'd appreciate width and offsets as well.
O.Z. Hydras, 17", 205x40x17 on front and rear. Occassional rubbing when at full lock and on an uneven surface but nothing major. Handle well and looks good. (the car has been lowered since then which makes a huge difference, I'll try and take updated pics soon)

Hi Guys,
Here's a pic of mine, had to photoshop the wheels a bit to bring them up but its basically what they look like. Their 17" Wolfrace Street Racers with a 7" diameter 35mm offset and a PCD of 4/100 -108mm and a center bore of 72.6mm. I'm using Marangoni Zeta tyres 205/40 + 225/35. Cheap tyres but still plenty of grip.

Well just had the fronts fitted, the backs are still being made and will not be here until Dec.
Any way they are:
Momo Ten-s Finished gloss black with diamond cut spokes
Front size - 15 x 6.5 - ET 38
Tyres - Goodyear F1 - 195 x 50 x 15"
The wheel and tyre combination is 1 kg heavier than the stock I've just taken off.
Back size 16 x 7 - ET 40
Tyre size 225 x 50 x 16" - Changed the Size to 215 x 40 x 16 should look and go a little better s:) :) s:) Cheers Mark.
I'll post the back when they are fitted.
Will be selling the original wheels if anyone is interested.

Just had a chat with the tyre supplier, he can get hold of 215 x 40 x 16 in the D3, which should be a better alternative. s:wink:  s:wink:
Just picked up my new ssr comp in gunmettalic, 17" by 7.5" for the rear and 16" by 7" for the front. Look amazing will post up pics when i get the tyres on saturday and get them on the car. If anyone is looking for these i got quotes from one supplier in the U.K and several others in Europe many didn't even have the right sizes or offsets- but finally got them ordered from an american company w www.rushkits.com (http://www.rushkits.com) w service was flawless and the price was better than anyy other firm even with the tax and duty. Very quick to email back and wheels arrived with no problems.

Thx for all the help the forum offered (esp Mark) re wheel options/req's. After much agonising, I went for these 15" Wolfrace Prosprint gunmetal, 4 stud, ET35 – bought from alloywheels.com (March 2009 - mid-recession!) at the utterly mad price of 217 quid for FOUR, delivered!! Now harder to find and much more expensive...but might be cheaper elsewhere – if interested, try e
duncan@tyresave.co.uk e who was very helpful but (not surprisingly) couldn't match the 217 quid (his price was 250 at the time).
I'm very happy with them – look great, no discernable rubbing except possibly a smidge at full lock (which, personally, I only use at for manoeuvering at low speed!), and handling's better if anything, but I guess the difference could have been simply due to new tyres (standard Bridgestone RE040s).
Ok, put your shades on because you're going to need them.....

I've never seen white wheels on a silver car before so not sure. But I feel that red calipers go best with any wheels in my opinion.

The wheels are : WHEELEGEND 16 X 7, OFFSET - 40, CB - 73.1. Spigot hub rings were supplied (at no extra cost)
On the front are Toyo Proxes T1-R XL 205/45 16R
On the rear are Toyo Proxes T1-R XL 225/45 16R
I don't know if it is psychological but the car seems to handle far better than with the stock wheels and tyres.
Do you have left hand and right hand wheels? I.e. The turbine shape faces forward on either side of the car. Like the lefthand ones do in the photos.
Oh, no.
Each to their own.
We're all different
But not for me either.

That's a very valid point, particularly if you are using directional tyres. Not so sure I'd let my local Mr T loose on that without strict instructions s:lol:  s:lol:
Wheels came from LR_EXPRESS via fleabay.
Previous tyres were: Front - 185/55 15 Rear - 215/45 16
No left and right distinction.

As regards weight, I don't know exactly but they felt roughly the same as stock 16s and nowhere near as heavy as the 17" Ripspeed Atoms I had on the black car which my son now has.
I gather from comments that nobody here is impressed, but as stated each to their own and I like them.
The Sport emblems were just a facet of my obsession with badges and stickers which came about during the 15 years working in the sign game.
Tend to get carried away sometimes, but that is just part of what makes me who I am.
Hideous looking wheels above, don't suit the car at all IMO but each to their own.
My fake TE37's.

OZ Superleggera 16"
Quote from: "Vin"OZ Superleggera 16"
The more I look, the more I reckon Superleggeras look perfect on a '2. What spec are rims and tyres? Just need to find a set for sensible money...
They really suit the car, a rare sight on a roadster I'm guessing due to the price compared to many other aftermarket alloys.
Are the sp12s somehow based on superleggeras?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Don't think so, sp12s are much cheaper and also lightweight like the oz

Cheaper? Jeez superleggeras must be a fortune.
Thanks!
These OZ Superleggeras were bought second hand, I think they are discontinued now, it's Clio/Yaris/etc fitment, so they are not that rare. Yes they are very lightweight. Tires are Michelin Pilot Sports 3 215 45 16 rear and 195 45 16 front. Wheels are 4X100 16X7.5J Et35

The last time I priced a set up (few years ago) they were around £1200 without tyres in 17" s:scared: :scared: s:scared:
Thats a different type of Superleggera, the Superleggera III can still be bought new and costs a fortune, they are forged.
The ones fitted to the MR2 are not that expensive.
IN keeping with the theme:
16" OZ Ultraleggeras in Blaaaack.

Needs dropping badly now sits far to high on the Teins especially the front needs coming down at least another 15-20mm.
Some epic looking 2's on spyderchat in the US, seems the "Roadster" UK scene steers away from a good drop on coilovers, the 2 looks so much better around 40-50mm drop over stock & 30mm springs. Bit of a shame with zero arch gap and a decent amount of poke they can look pretty epic!

The BBS wheels have become my daily wheels, the stock ones are getting wrapped in grippy tires either new street tires or lightly used r-comps, for time trials and track days.
Can you still put soft top up with that cage out of interest

How do people run 17's ? my car had them on when i bought and first it went for alignment, Then i replaced all the bushes all trying to chase the reason behind my awful tram lining ?

Great to hear you have a plan!!! Lol.
Will you change your name to Carlos Fandango then? ;)
I had to look that one up 😂
I don't think my car has as much six appeal as the anglia to warrant the change in moniker. 😎

What wheel nuts do you folks have for your aftermarket wheels, and where do you get them from? I've got a set of Japan Racing alloy wheels, but the standard nuts are too wide...in respect to the girth of the chamferred part. Consequently, I can't use my wheels :(
...Or was it because of a captive washer, I can't remember now :-\

I had a set to use so can't give any recommendations on where to buy but iirc the standard wheels use nuts with a flat shoulder whereas aftermarket wheels often need a tapered shoulder type nut to give a secure fit. Also worth checking if you need spigot rings unless your wheels are the correct bore.

Ahhh yes, sorry, that's the correct way round :withstupid: I need tapered, and the standard nuts are flat with a wide captive washer.
I do have spigot rings, which Miles kindly gave me when he sold me the JP Racing alloys
I would imagine any aftermarket wheelnuts of say, ebay, would work (obviously need to be the right thread for an MR2) as they will be the tapered ones.
Usually stock wheels have a radius curve but ours are flat but either nut is considered dangerous to use with an aftermarket wheel as there is not a full contact patch if the 2 are wrong and can come loose..
When I fitted my aftermarket wheels I bought a set of nuts off ebay for about £20 I think.

Imho it is more of a compliment to EU side drivers than anything else.
Lowering may lóók better, dríving wise it does not come without downsides.
Apart from the obvious reduction of ground clearance not everyone can get away with, it changes the geometry and the suspension needs to be stiffened up which does not improve roadholding on most real world secondary roads.

Anybody have any pictures of bronze colour wheels on a Spectra Blue car? Ta. :)
Keen on getting some bronze wheels for my grey roadster now it's got the power it deserves.
Anyone know what these wheels are? Trying to work out what they would look like on a standard car without a bodykit and huge spoiler.
I'm also having to put my plans to lower it on hold as my flat has the largest kerb I've ever seen and then a ramp down to the garage, so that would look different too.
