Just a quickee though, what tyres are you running on those alloys? Did you keep the stock stagger?

Nice pics, I like your bits and your bobs.
Dealer prices tho! That would have set you back a bit??

Hi Alex..

Not quite sure what you mean by stock ....the only stock related subject i know of is stockcar raceing... Think you could mean tyre size? All i'm aware is they are 17 inch OZ super turizmo GT's with 205/40 Vredestein sportrac 2 tl ??? TTE lowerered 30mm. ( i'm allergic to spead bumps!)
The wheels have been aligned and ajusted.
Thats all i know really...other than a noticable nicer ride.

Will try to take a closeup of the wheel for you.

thorough research done again then

same size tyres all round = spin = ditch = by by car

why do you think the stock wheels had different size tyres

You've got yourself a ditch-finder there mate with those tyre sizes. The rears should be wider than the fronts to maintain stability. If you've got 205's all round you need to get it sorted even if it means buying two new wheels to get the necessary stagger.

If you do a bit of research on here you'll find plenty of info on what works and what doesn't.

Very worrying that MrT fitted wheels which were a potential death trap.
Its bad but then it will be even worse if you stick a super charger on there as well!
Get it fixed and fast!

I told them that the front and rear were different....they said they knew what they were doing...so i left them to it.

They are all 4 205/40 ?

Jeff Foukes in Ibstock fitted them. I will need to go back in the morning and get it sorted   s:( :( s:(

Please could you tell me what the wheels should be?  Toyota told me 17's all round were ok> Help really appreciated.

Thanks

17's all around are fine. I run the following:

245/40/17  on the rear
205/35/17 on the front

Lots of opinions on what the stagger is but everyone agrees there is a stagger.

205x40x17 front & 235x35x17 rear, seems popular

Its just the Toyota bodykit, sometimes known as the Euro bodykit (in the States at least). It comes in pre and post facelift versions.

I have the TTE springs which lower by 30mm.

The wheels I have are the 17" SP12's with 8" rim on the rear, 7.5" on the front. They required some work with a heat gun to persuade the plastic wheel arches not to rub when cornering.

Hi basically an update on the wheel /tyre scenario...maybe this should be on a wheel thread now as the Lambo doors have gone out the window    s:lol:  s:lol:

Ok: Spoke to wheel company  who fitted them this morning- basically he's saying it's aload of bull and the correct tyres & wheels sizes at 205/40/17's all round are right, infact he's insisting on this and says the car has the correct wheels and is not dangerous.

I've phoned Toyota who seem to think that  wider on the rear maybe correct, but are having this technically looked into for me.
Also the make tyres appear to be budget tyres on the new wheels.  s:crazyeyes:  s:crazyeyes:    s:crazyeyes:  s:crazyeyes:

So we shall see...i'll keep you all updated as to the outcome.

Thanks again for all you input and support on the flippin wheels   s:lol:  s:lol:

on a front wheel drive car they wouldn't be a problem (apart from teh potentially dodgy cheap tyres)

however on a mid engine rear wheel drive car they are  a very very bad idea.

they've fitted them because they don't know any better and most "offers" including 4 alloys and tyres are priced based upon using teh same size tyres all round most non specialists are equally ignorant
