I've got standard pre face lift rims (15'') front 185/55 and rear 205/55, i want too go 205 on the front and 225 on the rear with t1r proxes. is this too much or will the wheels handle it ?

Those tyres will not fit the rim im afraid. You will need new wheels to go bigger.

Just a heads up but people will say stagger. Also speaking from another point going wider makes it less sharp on the steering, but that just down to preference I guess.

|The rear should be 205/50x15... not 205/55x15.

If you are going to go to 195 width on the tyre, you should go with 195/50x15, but remember, you will be lessening the stagger between front and rear, this will affect the handling a little. You will struggle to find a wider tyre that will fit the rear wheels unless you find a pair of standard 16" FC wheels, then you could fit 215/45x16 rears.
