s:scared: :scared: s:scared:  I bought a "Plasma Dial" cover and the instructions said that it would slip over the existing dials therefore no need to disturb
the dial needles. In your dreams! Apart from the speedo needle and temp gauge needle being too far apart to slide the new faceplate
over, the odometer reset stem totally makes this an impossible task.

So to cut a long story short I removed all 4 needles. Unless you really know what you are doing this is a BAD move. The tacho, fuel and
temp needles were not too difficult to re-position but as for the speedo, I positioned it pointing to zero and content with my efforts went
for a test drive.
Speedo didn't move at all.
For the next 3days I tried swapping over various parts of the cluster with those from my old silver MR. Result - the same. Had a sudden
brainwave and left the speedo needle off, started the car and then put the needle on. Result - it worked.
Given the benefit of hindsight I should have just got coloured bulbs and saved a lot of time and a high degree of panic

I have fitted a couple of sets of the plasma dials and although rather fiddly you can fit them by removal of the temperature needle.

Pretty sure Lee the sparky fitted his with no problems just really bent some of the needles.
TBH not tempted to try it myself hate fiddly jobs.

At the moment I have the dials working by plugging in to the cigarette lighter, but ideally they should be
connected to the headlight switch. Anyone know where to find the wiring I have to tap into?

Wire them into one of the existing dash bulbs, simply connect a wire to each contact and refit the bulb.

Has anyone tried adding the aluminium rings from that site too? I can't decide if they look tacky or not from the one photo.

There are apps that will let you use Flash, though I wish sites would hurry up and stop using it.

When I looked at these I thought the CF was the standard finish?

I think these look brilliant but I am just not sure how they will tie in with the standard heater control lights at night?

Would be good to see a night time shot that shows both together to see how it looks as the standard set up looks cohesive as all the same colour etc.

Fit the wires to each side of one of the dash bulbs to the rear, best to test first and if it doesn't  work then switch the wires around.

Quote from: "Topdownman"There are 2 types, ones with bigger holes so that you dont have to take off the needles. These are easier to fit but could leave a white bit showing? The needles are apparently hard to line up again if you take them off.

It would be good to  see a wider photo to show how they look with the standard heater lights on if anyone has got one?

Has anyone got an example of this? Equally if anyone has purchased do they come with instructions how to fit? These dials look great so if I can fit them myself I'd be very tempted!

Dials arrived and I've managed to fit them used double sided tape and even removed the standard facia
got the speedo working along with the rev and temp
just need to go and fill the car with petrol as i forgot the level showing   s:scared: :scared: s:scared:   doh

could do with some advise as they are different to Andyroos set so need to find a power supply also what do you do with the metal spade thing with a hole
instructions say just tape surely can't be that easy

so help from all that know more about electrics than I would be greatly appreciated

When I fitted these dials, I just taped the spade with insulation tape and feed the wires into one of the bulb holders on the back of the cluster. I would suggest testing the connections first to see which is red or black. Mine was Red on the bottom but have seen others with the opposite connections

Looks like a voltage regulator that we use at work. They have to be bolted to a bit of metal with some thermal paste
