OK I have cast  s:) :) s:)    (anyone else want to chime in?)

would have been finished ages ago, but I didn't want to make a liar out of myself as per the thread title.

I figure 2 years gives me a touch of credibility...

Lets has a Pic of the mani so we are 100% but none of the TTE or SP turbo cars run a brace. All have cast manifolds.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

After a fair bit of research into this bracing is a good idea if your a running a stainless mainifold.  Moreso if it is a turbo above manifold configuration
If you look on page 2 of my build thread, there are some pictures of peoples braces

So cast  - no brace necessary.

Youll have to ask Grant it his car now.
My current 2 is a yellow v6.
Intercooler is ahead of the gearbox.
I would have a charge cooler tbh.
When i get round to a supercharger thats what i am going to do.

Anyone got any advice on a 2.5 inch v band adapter versus a 3 inch - the 3 inch is cast, the 2.5 is stainless?

Which would be preferable

Bigger the better imho and i prefer cast bits too.

Cheers Scotte/ Any idea where to get some nice long studs for the new exhaust manifold?  - is 10mm thicker than the OEM one.

So, any ideas on washers for the manifold studs?  I have nord lock washers, but I'm reading mixed things.

Thanks in advance

So, I popped out for a packet of crisps and to pick up a newspaper and got waylaid.

So, the crisps must be passed their best before date and as for the newspaper!

At what?
You have certainly been AWOL for some time, have you anything to show us regarding p r o g r e s s ? Any paint is probably dry by now!

No progress whatsoever.  :-[

In fact with the car not even moving, and brakes no doubt being seized - I'm sure progress has regressed.

But yesterday does not define tomorrow. I'm half expecting one of the mods to blow the whistle, give me a red card and tell me to start a new thread in the performance section. If I promise to be a good boy and actually perform.

Quote from: Redjay on May 30, 2015, 12:51After pm'ing one of the mods we thought a thread to monitor my turbo build would be a good idea – actually it's more than to 'monitor' it's me throwing myself on the mercy of the club, as a mechanical noob and gathering advice long the way. I have read as much of the information on Turbo Builds as I can, and now it's time to get things moving, and I am really looking to tap the collective knowledge of the club.

I bought some basics, over a year ago, to start a turbo build. I am looking for (a) help so I know what else I need to purchase, and after I've purchased the rest of the gear (b) some advice while I assemble.

I am not handy with a spanner beyond the very basics, such as changing brake discs and pads, but I want the challenge of putting it together myself.

So this is the list of gear I have presently:

1.   Uprated clutch (already fitted professionally).
2.   Garrett GT 28r
3.   Intercooler
4.   Moroso oil pan
5.   Cast Manifold and gasket
6.   Injectors (380cc)
7.   Greddy Emanage & Profec E 01 boost controller
8.   Emanage harness
9.   Dump Valve (BOV)
10.   Nord lock washers
11.   Dash Pod for gauges (52mm)
12.   Nissan gasket set for Turbo
13.   Oil feed restrictor
14.   Torque app for android
15.   EGT, Boost, Oil Pressure and Temp Gauges
16. Manifold Bolts from Mr T
17. Exhaust
18. Charge cooler kit

This is what I think I need in addition to the above:

1.   Bolts turbo to manifold
2.   Engine Mounts (Kirk mounts?)
3.   Boost Pipe
4.   Induction kit
5.   Flouro lined oil lines
6.   O2 Sensor resistor
7.   Oil guage fitting  t piece
8.      Heat Wrap

So thanks in advance to anyone willing to weigh in on the conversation. My overall aim is a reliable fun car - and I am shooting for 200 bhp or thereabouts.
