What is the smallest a plate can be?
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Cheers folks.
to try and mitigate any issues re legality. I went for standard font and spacing.
100% agree. The smaller you could get away with. The better (simpler) the fitting would be.

I think a smaller plate tidied up the front end. I like the sticker idea as you can remove the numberplate holder.

You only have to have an 11mm border around the plate.
Characters have to be 50 mm wide except for I or 1.
The actual thickness of the lines that forms the character have to be 14mm.
There must be 33mm between the age identifier and the random characters.
Square plates must have 19mm between top and bottom rows.

So going  from that Jason can that sticker be made any smaller?
Any of you guys with the tiny plates are they technically within the rules?

Edited for correction of sizes

Car is in garage now. Font and spacing I would say meets the criteria you state.
If I had known about the border requirement. I could have shaved 4mm off all round. Between letter and edge I have 15mm. I had already trimmed it down to that.

Like S12VE A

Having a 1 in the plate saves a lot of mm.

With all the chat here about legal limits, maybe a cold spoon on the enterprise   s:bowdown:  s:bowdown:
My understanding is that a number plate must be purchased from a registered number plate supplier.  If not its not legal   s:scared: :scared: s:scared:
Even if you meet the font, size, spacing, colour and reflective criteria - its not legal.
Bernie's does not look like a 11mm border all round   s:shock:  s:shock:

Think your correct. You just need friendly local police and friendly not testers to get away with it.

I might start a separate thread for "has anyone been pulled for their Plate"

I think it would be a very bad day to get pulled for the plates we have, when you consider some of the shockers that are out there.

Being that my plate is 7 characters long and contains no 1s or Is not sure how much smaller mine will get.
Maybe I should dig out one of my personalised plates. They're both 6 long there is even a 1 in one of them.

I hacked my standard plate down in an effort to obstruct less of the radiators.
