Looks like you have produced the first "how not to"!

Hope you manage to find them, presumably they came off the first time you got up to speed as they both came off?

If you have a pushbike, could you retrace the route on that so you have more time to check out the verges etc?

I know where they came off.. Just don't think they'll be recoverable as I'm assuming they'll be broken? But yeah no Tiger seal.. Just tape.
And hopefully the paint is fine!

If they've not been run over they might still be salvageable? A bit of carbon wrap or something if they're blemished...

Wait! Hold on here. This is it!
The  big moment

... The Pants of Shame are no longer mine!
I felt them slip off, and now firmly covering John's firm bottom
...neutiquam erro.

As opposed to the C one scoops...
And it's not at all confusing for me (also a John as you know...)

Well I tried to go back and find them.. saw one out of the corner of my eye on the side of the M25 .. the other is somewhere in the bushes on the on ramp from the M25...  Gutted really as I quite liked the look.
What is it with me and body kit pieces! Bah..

Sucks. You not going to be able to stop near them to retrieve them?

Well at 1130 last night I really did consider it but I thought on balance it wasn't with the risk!

That's a shame.
Pants of shame that is.

Glad the car is unscathed.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Ring the highways agency and tell them where they are and you want them?

Maybe.

(The scoops, obviously, not the pants).

Ummmm.... You reckon they'd help get them? I don't want to get my hopes up. And it's honestly my fault... I think it's best to leave the whole episode alone and pretend it never happened!

I have to agree.  Mind you I thought they looked good in the photograph.  Went well with the blue roof.   How good they looked in the 'flesh' ??  I had a but of a chuckle when I saw you were putting great big wind-catchers on with double sided stickum.  You might not want to broadcast the fact that you stuck bits onto a car that blew off on the motorway.  Could be a road-worthiness issue...

Tell the otherstu where they are (for a fee of course!) and tell him its like a new form of geocaching.

I have no idea if the HA would do that for you but if they dont and you try and get them yourself and get hurt that wouldnt be good so they may do it for that reason? Cant be often that someone actually wants something that falls off their car so maybe worth a call or e-mail? (Blame it on the age of the car rather than you of course!).

Been trying to think who it was that was always ringing the "Cones hotline" and just remembered it was Bridget Jones....

Thanks for the support and light hearted abuse... It's what this place is all about!
I must admit that I could feel the differential (or thought I could) without the extra wind resistance, I may have been dragging parachutes but I looked good doing it!!!
Anyway- they're gone now.. Time to focus over other things that are more important and not about making it pretty!

This is the correct answer.
Perhaps you don't deserve the pants of shame after all.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
