Words are cheap... but the vending machine rejected my last £2 coin on the grounds that it's actually a mexican 2 peso piece. That and the bank manager wants a word about my credit line with ebay/various performance parts suppliers/the sales section on here.

Sorry.

It's never too soon for friendly, supportive banter from an understanding fellow owner...
(The money would just fall through the holes anyway...)

Your a ****!!!

Not a very good bucket far too many holes.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Just something to think about there are other sub frames/v6 swaps from the same supplier that could well shortly suffer from this, not too mention the claim that the supplier claims they re enforce their sub frames.

Disappointing to see that there is no extra reinforcing inside.

Worth noting though that the subframe has not gone by the cut out but at the other end?

When was the car converted?

Gone in the usual place.
Its a 2000 car conversion done a while back Tomos bought it in 2014.

I still think the subframe, as built by Toyota, is quite shoddy.
In my humble completely uneducated opinion haha.
I had a good look at it and it's a lapwork of sheets of metal.

Surely someone can fabricate a more solid structure

Conversion was done in 2010 I believe.

In relation to the subframe construction, welding together pressed metal panels is cheaper than a casting and gives more cross sectional area.
The downside is obviously that wherever there is a joint, moisture can potentially get in over time.

It might be worth seeing if its possible to create a structure with some standard section alu bars/tubes. It's something I have given some thought to before.
Perhaps i need a convo with Steve@D1 for a next project.

It ought to be mounted on a plinth and given out yearly at Ding Day the "Courage in the face of diversity and relentless p**s taking" award! [emoji2]
