pipes/valve?

folks, i'm about to put an Apexi in and i went to spydermagazines writeup where i found this picture

but what is the pipe and valve next to the MAF sensor for, i dont have them on mine, just 2 rubber mounts for the airpipe. you can see another one of these valves on the right in green

Don't worry, we don't have this 0 the US cars have to tap a hole into the intake somewhere to make provision for it, we don't  s:wink: :wink: s:wink:

I made this mistake with my mk1. I bought a Haynes manual and set about tinkering, only problem was the USA mk1 as featured in the manual differs amazingly around air intake etc.
You live and learn.
