The only thing you'll ever have a problem with is warranty.  I found Insurance to be identical and the supply of parts has always been next day as with UK stuff.  You'll find that almost everything on the cars are the same part numbers.

Re-sale value may be lower than that of a UK car but then you would have bought one cheaper anyway so it all equals out.

Most Imports come with a higher spec then UK cars, AC is standard!

cheers for the info

the full story is that i have been offered a car from work on a sort of lease scheme so i am thinking about getting a car from vauxhalls and then having something abit cheaper than my 53 mr2

i dont mind going a bit older also an import seems logical as you say they are a little bit cheaper

i would like to stay with the mr2 but all suggestions are welcome

You'll find the cheapest early imports on Ebay.

Ebay seems to be a last resort for sellers of vehicles, so they are very good prices!

Ive had my import over 2 years, never had no problems with it, love it to bits, insurance was about £50 more with elephant but thats about it.

As for looking for one, mine is now for sale in the classifieds here, theres a full spec and photos too.
