Tyre change time - where's the comparison topic gone?

Need to get the tyres changed and I've read a lot of positive comments about the T1-Rs.  However, I can't find the old link that had people's comments on.  There seems to be a new one but that only has about 6 so far.

Where is the old link?

Thanks

No, just read that one.

It had a standard format - like the one in the performance section now.  But, it had lots and lots of comments of all types of tyres.

Well i can reccomend the Toyo T1-S's, still scrubbing in but WHAT a difference, totally transformed the car.

Went for 225.40.16 and 195/50/15's in the end. I am dead chuffed and its all thanks to the advice given on here.

Apparently the 195's (T1-R's) are in short supply?

debate time for me now that the comparisons back up,

i'm off to Donnington on the 3rd and i've got stock bridgstones on with about 4-5mm on them, do i swap em out now for the T1-R's or use the bridgstones and kill them on the track??

Kill the Bridgestones.  You wouldn't want to trash your new ones on day one plus they'll still have the release agent on and will have less grip.  As far as I've read they need to cover at least 300 miles before they bed in.

The Bridgestones should do you alright.  Mine started off with less tread than yours have but were knackered at Brunters. I would expect Donno to be a much smoother surface so you could still have life in them afterwards.

Quote from: "markiii"why on earth would you?

That's because the shops do not have anything 205 in stock. Takes 7 days to get anything close to stock spec, and one of my rear tyre has 2 bloody nail in it, and the other one is all bald.

So my question, is it ok with the specs I chose? I'm been driving it, seems fine to me.

Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

Not something I would prefer. But then I guess I will make do. But at least it will get me back from the groccery!

don't do it. unless you happy to pootle along at 30mph, that is going to be a dangerous combo.

if you must do it whay have a 55 profile on teh front and a 50 on teh back?
