Coilover top nut adjustment

I've been giving the 2 a bit of a shakedown recently and it's all good except for low-speed bumps in the road where there's a little clunk. Pushing on everything feels great.

Checked the struts and found I can spin the top nut with a wrench. I tried to tighten down by using an allen key + wrench and found - with force - I was able to tighten the top nut a bit more. Should I try and tighten this further? I know the bearings basically need replacing but I just need a reasonable/temp fix for now.
