Tyre Pressures - 2.2 or 1.8 bar?

In the glovebox there is a sticker saying that tyre pressures should be 1.8 for the front tyres and 2.2 for the back ones. Every time I go to my Toyota dealer they keep on putting the same pressure (2.2) on all tyres. I am planning to drive many miles in the next few weeks and I would like to put the correct pressure on the tyres for the optimum petrol consumption. Any advise? By the way I have the original RE040 Potenza's tyres.

Toyota dealers ALWAYS put the wrong pressures in... Go with what the glovebox says.

as a rough gauge use the 1.8 and 2.2 as stated on yer loyal glovebox's info sticker .

i like my car feelin very agile, so i lover the fronts to 1.6. it makes a difference. if yer going for a long cross country drive and you feel yer spyder isnt too stable at very high and illegal speeds, raise the fronts to 1.9 or so.

tire pressures are the easiest way to tune handling
