well it had to be done by some brave person soon or later, can't wait to see the outcome of this project, doesn't look like the SC sticks out too much either  s:? :? s:?  

the big Q, will the soft top fit back in???

I would say no... It would fit, but it wouldn't fold down. Unless of course, you were to fit a flexible plastic rear screen. In that case I would suggest that the roof might be flexible enough to fold away into the reduced space.

was unfortunatly thinking the same, but wasn't entirely sure how much room was under the folding board, is there a valuable 2 inches?

There's just a carpet on top of that "soft top shelf" and at least I have to press my top against it to make it fold properly.

Who makes the two-piece soft top fiberglass cover?  If it doesn't solve the problem, maybe it could be modified to do so.

replace the rear glass with some kind of flexible plastic (like the windows in tents or clear umbrellas) and your sorted.
