Want to buy a 2zz, don't know where.. HELP!

I live in portugal, and Im having no luck in searching for one here... I've allready decided that I will import if I need to, but I would prefer If I could find one in Europe so I don't end up paying some stupid taxes on my border.. Anywhere in the UK that I can get one? or anywhere else in europe?

I believe Adam covered this in another thread. IIRC it was >£1000 for the engine. Gearbox and ECU - probably another £500-£600, plus your custom fittings and other miscellaneous gumph of course.

Hi. I'm Portuguese as well. Where are you from? I'm from Lisbon. We could have a cup of coffee and talk about our projects. I'm planning on buying a 2ZZ as well, during the first months of 2006.

I can tell you that I've asked Adam (Jap GT300) about 2ZZ engines a few times now, but had no success. I found that the best option so far would be to source one from the US...

I've seen the first forum!! and one from ppl with MR2. the other one I haven't been there yet.
About the trackday, I don't have a MR2 yet :p, but I could take my mom's benz :p:p (to get kicked ass by U guys  s:) s:)  )

About the engine... that stinks! What about japan? Would it be easier to get one from there?? At least on the past it was a pain in the ass to order things from the USA.. at least stuff for computers, I think we had to pay some stupid taxes in the borders, and some things got "lost".

They will export and also have an office in France (33) 03 21 32 20 21

I paid £850 for the engine only.

I did have three engines available to me about 3 months ago the price was £1000 to include engine, gearbox and ECU.  This is the price you should aim to pay.

You should remember that you will need an Apexi PFC ECU, Manifold, and shifter shaft as compulsory items.  The other stuff you can either do yourself or purchase at a later date.

Be sure to order the harness, to skip a painfull part of the process  :-) :-) :-)

now I just need a PFC (no big deal), an engine (from jap car), and time and money  s:-D :-D s:-D

just the ecu. then U need a couple of "plugs" that LR can suply

If there are a few of us interestd in doing the conversion, wouldn't it be a good idea to do a few miny group-buys? I guess we could save a few Euros (or Pounds) by ordering in number.

What exactly is included in the kit? And how much is it?

The kit depends on what is ordered but it generally includes.

New Dip Stick Shaft
Bridge mount (for the pulley side)
Selector Shaft and bung
Wiring Loom adapter
4 to 2 Header (bolts to stock 1ZZ cat)

The only things that this is missing is the airbox (if you were using a stock ECU) and the 1ZZ box can easily be adapted for use on a 2ZZ

it's not a big job, just a specialist job.

get it done beofre you start the swap.

Just the shifter shaft is machined.

I'm hoping for my 2ZZ conversion to be done by the end of October.  It will take him a weekend to do it.  I'm driving from NE Florida to Houston TX area, which is normally about a 13 hour drive, but due to Hurricane Katrina it may be another 4-6 hours.  We shall see.
