Melting fog lamps

My cheap EBay fog lamps had both melted inside around where the bulb sits. Quite shocking as I can't even remember using them other than to check the bulbs before MOTs. If you have similar keep an eye on them as it could be a fire risk. I'll take some pictures when I get a chance.

I found that Einparts duolight dl05 are a direct fit and meet European regs. I fitted them today thanks to the excellent How To here by @shnazzle, thank you! They appear to be very similar to the Vinstar fog/dlr units that lots of people fitted a few years back. Hopefully these are a bit safer. They certainly look great.

How cheap was cheap?

There are some things I purposely buy cheap but for car parts I'd rather spend a little more to make sure I don't have to the do same job again for a few years.

I'm guessing these are the cheap plastic prius replacements people keep suggesting.

Yes, the same Prius part. About £40 I think. They had glass lenses and felt fairly similar to the originals. There were no safety marks though. The bulbs didn't sit very well which may have been part of the problem.
