CD and Radio/Cassette question. 2x seperate slot or just one

I have noticed in my 2001 MR2' that there is one slot for the CD player and another slot for the radio/Cassette in the dash. I am looking to get a TV and DVD player and wondered if I could buy the units separately and have a slide out monitor in one slot and the player in the other??? Is this possible.

It's just the CD slot looks a bit small??
