I need to get some of those rear wheels!!  :-) :-) :-)
What width of rim and tyre are you running?

Exactly what I was thinking stuc, I want those rims! Please give me details of the fitment on those.

So you're going K20 on it are you? Good choice, brilliant engine, a friend of mine has a k20 turbo in his Honda civic Jordan, it's currently rated at approx 750bhp. Cosworth internals, slight over bore, 150 shot of nitrous, twin injector set up, and unlimited amount of other mods, topped off nicely with a custom Pfitzner dog box. Even standard with a supercharger conversion there making brilliant power. Good luck ikrana, strongly recommend slink G4 ecu to run it though, much better than any piggyback stuff especially for your set up. Althoughu may want to retain the standard ecu to run the dash and the power steering like I did. Not enough out puts I found to manage.

No it´s a K20A2 the s2000 engine would be nice I was considering it but it was still quite expensive, but I think the k20 will do the job  s:D :D s:D

The wheels are 2 piece custom orderd J-line wheels, cutom offsett and color scheme,
the sizes are:
18x8 in front with 235/35-R18
18x10 in rear with 295/30-R18

I don't remember the offset I have it on a paper somwere I will see if I can find it.

It is really a great engine, and it has alot of potential!
still haven't decided on the spec. Turbo, supercharger or big N/A power?
but as soon as I make any progress I will post it, First of all I will have to fit the engine and sort the electrics and ecu out,
I haven't dicide on what ecu to run yet, everybody says that I sould run the Hondata, but we will see, I want something so I also can run a Dashlogger.

My tuner has massive experience with hon data as he's a Honda specialist, he tends to use them for things like throttle body conversions and simple bolt on supercharger conversions, but anything of big spec which I'm sure your going to be running I couldn't recommend link highly enough. As said I do use the standard Toyota ecu to power the electric power steering and abs etc etc, and there is some sort of resistor on there now to apparently fool the Toyota ecu into thinking the car is running so the steering and things works.

I've heard of people achieving upto 300bhp from an na k20 also some people using the k24 from the CRV. But the link does offer in built data logging if that's what you're referring to by a dash logger?

I think you will be very happy with that motor, I think I've even seen a fitting kit for the roadster somewhere, possibly woodsport in Durham actually.

Would be really nice to have the offset of those wheels, also can you remember what price you paid for them? Inbox me if you would prefer not to say the price on here though  s:) :) s:)  thanks ikrana

Well everybody is telling me to use the Hodata but now some has told me use the Haltech so I will have to think alittle about what ecu to run with my setup.
first of I will have to fit the engine and wire all the electrics and such.
after that I will start to tune it for more power  s:) :) s:)

I would be happy if I didn´t have to use the both Ecu,s and only the honda one, but maybe this will be too much wireing?
I have also been thinking about removing the P/S system but I don't know? has anybody done this with good results?

I would be nice to find a fitting kit for the roadster but i don't know if there is any? I will see if woodsport has one,
I worst problem is the shifter linkage and electrics i think.

I will Pm you the price of the wheels and try to find the offsets for them  s:D :D s:D

To start with I am going to run a stock engine and test the car and see so everything is working as it sould,
after that I am going to upgrade, I still don't know If I am going to build a N/A engine or run a supercharger,
if building a N/A then the plan is to go with a stroker kit for 2,5l bore and a build head,
also have some plans for a drysump system,

if going with the supercharger, then I have to rebuild the firewall etc,
Title: K20 is in the enginebay!!!

So for all you guys who has been waiting for a update! here it is.

So the engine is now in the bay! the mounts need to be redone as they now look like buttcrap! I am planing on having them cnc macined in aluminum and the powdercoat them.

Now I am planing to do all the thing around the engine, new manifold all the wires, exhaust new intake etc...

I am also planing to make a new front splitter in carbonfibre, this is the start of it.

stunning. not a lot of advice i can offer that you probably dont already know, but i would can definantly vouch for the hondata route. i had the b16a2 in my old crx running hondata and it was bob on. the only reason i didnt go for the k20 convertion was the weight issue (crx being front wheel drive).

Well I am going to use Hondata ecu, If everything is  going as planned. I was also thinking about using Haltech but I think Hondata is the right way to do it! seems like everybody running a K20 in any car are using the Hondata.

Beautiful (TIG welded?) manifold.. I'm trying to get my head around how you managed to weld it all up in the right order that you could still reach all the joints! Like playing Tetris with stainless steel tube..

Ok so here is a small update for my build, I have done quite alot to the car latly but nothing
so big so it is of interest of taking pics of it, but here are some new parts that I am going to use fpr the new setup.

First a Oddessey PC680 battery weight only 7kg  s:) :) s:)

the a Oilfilter relocater (the filter is to close to the manifold )
and a new oilfilter holder with 4 -AN 10 fittings for engine and oilcooler and the 1 port for oilpress and oiltemp.

Bigger update on the engine as soon as possible  s:D :D s:D
Title: Re: New engine and more work.

I was about to ask how on earth the oil filter was close to the manifold ... and then I remembered we're talking about a K20 not 1ZZ. Apparently work has broken my brain  s:lol:  s:lol:

Quote from: "Ikrana"for the ones who wonder, the manifold is fullstainless and TIG welded  s:) :) s:)

It's a work of art  s:) :) s:)  Don't suppose you could knock up a nice set of TIG'd equal length headers for a V8?  s;) ;) s;)   s:lol:  s:lol:
Title: Re: New engine and more work.
Post by: Ikrana on February 10, 2012, 18:01
Haha yup is a K20  s:P :P s:P
the manifold is about 3 to 4 cm away from the filter and I don't want it to heat up the oil.
and also by chaging its location it will be easy to changs etc, and also it looks nice  s:D :D s:D

as far as building another manifold, I think I have to much work with my car for the moment if I want to get it ready for the summer,

Well the sc was easy to fit on the engine,
the hardest part was rebuilding a new firewall and make it fit just right, also when i rebuild the firewall i also took the chance to make a easy access port from inside the  scock cock scock pit, so now i can work on the frontside of the engine from inside the car  s:) :) s:)

Are you still looking to return to stock(ish) body?

Thanks  s:) :) s:)

Well its a very hard decission :/

I really love the wide stance, but the car has been looking kind of like this for 6 years now so maybe thats why i want to build a new exterior?

I am having some plans building on oem body panels, with but with overfenders, keeping the hood and aero bits and see how it all turns out,

My friends tell me i am insane if doing so but i guess bye time i have started to enjoy the oem body more and more  s:) :) s:)
Only time can tell how things will turn out.  s:D :D s:D

I think stock does look good, and it could look awesome with over fenders -or in my opinion even better- would be to flare the stock arches really aggressively so they look like they could have come from the factory like it, but actually are about 50mm wider per side than normal  s:D :D s:D

Yeah! To flare them to the max would be real nice also  s:) :) s:)
I will start the bild in september again, starting with the rear brakes and some minor stuff, then i will decide on what to do with the body  s:) :) s:)

The rear spoiler is a APR GTC300 airfoil on custom chassi mounted stands,
I will try to remember to take a better pic of the hood, its a carbon monocraft gt300.

Can I ask something...

By raising the spoiler that high - does it produce more downforce? I dont mind a big and tall spoiler but that is something else

by having the spoiler were i have it now ( by the roofline) you gererally create more downforce, this is by having the airfoil in the"cleanair" area.

I will have to say that it all comes down to what offset your wheel is, i now run 245 in the rear, and in order to make these fit i have to roll the fenders like alot.
but I am running a+30 offset in the rear on a 8,5" wheel, if you can get a 8,5 with a 40 or 45 offsett i guess that it would be no problem running 255 or more.

225 in the front is real tight and some gutting an alot of rolling is needed,

this car is still a fully legal roadcar and will have no problem with MOT in the state that is shown in the pictures, the only thing the MOT isn´t happy about is the rear wing.

But i am building it to be a agressive track and time attack car, i just want to be able take it on the street and on car meets when i feel like it  s:D :D s:D

yeah the wing is just of the car for a week or so, i am going to run it on the street so need to do the MOT without the GT wing cuz it is not legal on street here in Sweden,
I will put it back on the car by the end of the week, this also gave me the chance to have the wing legs send to powdercoat  s:) :) s:)

It still looks awesome even without the apr kit.
Just wondering where did you get the over fenders aor who makes them?

Thanks!

Ok guys,

Time has come and i want to build something new, i feel that i have done pretty much all with my car over the years, and i just don't feel "IT" anymore.

So the car is up for sale, I have a hard time to decide on a price, any input would be great  s:) :) s:)

It might be so that if i don't get a offer that i do like , then i might part some of the parts out, but not for now.

I still havn't decided what car i am going to use for the future build, for now i am looking att 3 cars,

Honda s2k, toyota gt86 or porsche 997 turbo.

If you do split the car I'll gladly take the supercharger off your hands  s:D :D s:D

I'd say s2000 or GT86.. Only because the s2000 is cheaper, 240bhp out the box and if you strap a turbo on it it'll be a barrel of fun!! Plus they look mean.

GT86, high price and I'm not sure how well tunable they are, look fantastic though!

Custom AP racing bbk 295x25

Porsche 997 Turbo! Do you really want to loose that rear engined placement and go for a gt86 or S2K?

Plus to get to the 997 Turbo speeds will need a lot of money spent on the S2K, and even more on the GT86!

But then again, I am a Porsche guy  s;) ;) s;)

I just want to share this with all spyder owners, just cuz i know that some peoble want to run alot of rubber in the rear,

I tested my old setup a week ago and i am happy to say that with a proper pull and roll on the fenders, a 285/30 wheel will fit without any problems,  on this setup i am running 285/30 on a 9,5" wheel with a +35 offset.

Hi guy,

The car is still my garage, thats said everyone might understand that it isn't sold.
Since the widebody and wheels seems to be hard to sell, i might convert the car back to widebody,

That said, i wonder if anyone is interesten in the bodypanels/volk wheels and apr wing+ custom wing mounts?

Send me pm's if so and i will contact you,
I am not 100% sure on this yet but let me know if you are interested,

I just bought a 2008 ap2 S2000 so i need to make some space in the garage  s:) :) s:)
