Title: Tis with a heavy heart........
Post by: AckersMR2 on April 11, 2013, 22:51
.......that I announce my 2 ownership has come to an end   s:cry:  s:cry:

Unfortunately a breakdown in my relationship with my long term partner has resulted in us going our separate ways and she needed the car.

I'm unsure wether I would have kept it anyway as I'd struggle to justify all the toys and I still like my bike too much to let it go and didn't get to use it as much as i'd have liked last year (no doubt due to the addictive nature of the 2) so hoping to use it a lot more this year, that and the fact when not on the bike, a two seater sports car isn't really an ideal mode of transport for a filthy spaniel   s:lol:  s:lol:

It has by far been the best car I've ever owned (well that and my mk1 GTE) and given the opportunity I may buy another again in the future but until then I shall have to view with envy from behind the wheel of my Astra, or in the mirrors on my bike   s:( :( s:(     s:lol:  s:lol:

But fear not, you've not got rid of me that easily, after all I've got an F1 competition to honour and I'm far to opinionated to keep quiet and sit in the background   s:lol:  s:lol:

I'm sure I shall miss my 2 whenever the suns shining (which will probably be every day now I haven't got one)

shame, but like Stu said you've got all those ebay motors to fall back on, constantly ironing the wrinkles out of that Pug Fezza will keep you busy and take your mind off your 2!   s:wink:  s:wink:

Life and situations change, we have to roll with the punches sometimes and make decisions for pragmatic and practical reasons. Sad you have to let the 2 go, but you will likely get another one in future and have a return of that additional fun feeling again. Keeping a healthy attitude soon has you back on your feet again, chin up and look forward to being able to be selfish with your time and your enjoyment. Life changes, spirit overcomes.

Was in that position myself years ago, should have got rid of the 2 but just couldnt do it, not nice but needs must.

or... get the rid of the rest and buy another one!

As for the spaniel, what's funnier than a stupid dog with daft ears in a convertible   s:D :D s:D

Thanks guys, sure i'll get myself in another 2 someday, either that or join the dark side and get an MX-5  s:lol:  s:lol:
I still hope to get along to some of the Goodwood/Beaulieu meets this year so might see some of you there  :-) :-) :-)

StuC - it was a close run thing between the Pug Fezza and the 2 but I realised while i'll always be able to find another 2, where would I get another Fezza as good as that one? So in the end it was a simple decision  s:lol:  s:lol:

Quote from: "AckersMR2".......that I announce my MR2 relationship has come to an end   s:cry:  s:cry:

Unfortunately a breakdown in my relationship with those of an opposite sex that make life with an MR2 difficult has resulted in us going our separate ways and she needed to take one of the things most precious to me as she already had my balls.

I'm unsure whether I would have been allowed to keep it anyway as she threatened to take all the toys and I still like my bike too much to let it go and didn't get to use it as much as i'd have liked last year (no doubt due to the addictive nature of the 2) so hoping to use it a lot more this year, that and the fact when not on the bike, a two seater sports car isn't really an ideal mode of transport for a filthy spaniel  :.:

The only thing I will miss is my MR2 whenever the suns shining (which will probably be every day now I haven't got one)

Speaking as a fellow ex MR2 driver, 'tis better to have loved and lost   s:cry:  s:cry:

Speaking as a fellow motorcyclist, you kept the right toy   s:wink:  s:wink:  , can always get another MR2 later   s:) :) s:)

Perhaps I should have PM'd you first   s:lol:  s:lol:

I think that just like you though I was pretty blown away at just how much fun the MR2 is. Selling my bike was never an option for a load of reasons, I'm too attached after 9 years & it fits my current life better. I've already had two 2s and want another just as soon as I can justify it , I just think they get under your skin like that !
